Hi, New to this site - which looks amazing by the way!  So how do we enter this comp - and I assume it is just motivation to get writing and reflecting on others' writing?  Once we have written our song - of normal song length - where do we submit it?  thanks

We normally post the finished entries in Finished Songs, saying in the title its a Summer Competition Entry & including the lyrics & a bit about the song
There is usually a rule that you must review all the other entries to enter your own song ...

Just a little bump for this post. I suspect most of you are working on your summer songs  Hopefully we should start hearing some of them soon. End of June deadline so no big hurry

seeing posts already. I'm just thinking out loud.

The theme seems a bit uninspiring for a personal song
but a fictive one might work.

My first lines are:

My feet are covered in sand

Ah ha ! Oh sorry they are Norwegian aren't they ? Now you see Martin, the challenge is to be inspired by some uninspiring subject matter, swap cafe au lait for whisky, cigars for banana milkshake vapes and let rip maaaan
