I came up with this one night when I was shopping in the grocery store. I saw a bag of that shredded broccoli and carrots and wondered what I could do with it.
I proceeded to create the recipe in my head and run around the store getting the rest of what I needed. It turned out great, so I thought that I would share.

If you make it, let me know what you think:

BROCCOLI SLAW*

1 lb. bag of shredded broccoli
1 ripe, large-sized avocado
2 Tb. apple cider vinegar
1 Tb. dijon mustard
1 Tb. orange juice
1 tsp. sugar
1/4 cup crumbled gorgonzola
1/2 cup dried cherries
Salt and pepper to taste

Mash avocado in a large bowl.
Add vinegar, mustard, sugar, and orange juice and whisk all ingredients together until smooth.
Add shredded veggies to mixture and toss until coated.
Add crumbled gorgonzola and dried cherries and toss until well combined.
When plating, garnish with a few dried cherries, if desired.

Total prep time: About 10 minutes.

*all measurements are approximate, as I cook like an old grandma... never measure.

I'm not a vegetarian. I was just trying to find a way to get some veggies into my kids' bellies.
I would definitely serve it as a side dish with a nice, fat steak. That would be great with it.

Hi PopTodd,

I think you have the makings of a good lyric here, with an interesting title. Not sure you've completely nailed it yet, but keep at it. ;)

Good thinking Mike67,

I propose changing the title from 'Broccoli slaw' to 'Broccoli slayer'.

And somewhere I think it needs the lyric, 'vegetarians on a rampage'

Look forward to hearing this.

I think that chorus would be:
MORE MEAT!
NEEDS MORE MEAT!
MORE MEAT!!!!

Chanted/yelled over some chunky power chords a few times.

Vegetarians wouldn't have the strength to go on a rampage!

This is what you hear if you play "Silly Love Songs" by Paul McCartney backwards. "Maybe I'm Amazed" is a ripping lentil soup, Silly Love Songs is this.

In terms of arrangement, I would suggest some bbq ribs panned to the left
