Hey guys, heres a few verses of a song ive been working on recently.  Im interested in whether people think the song is worth taking further.

When the bailiff comes around ©
G         Em
It used to be clear what side we was on
C         G
We could pick up a banner and wave it in the throng
G         Em
Yes at times there was fighting, and sometimes out of hand
GD
But now I sit here and cry
G
When the bailiff comes around

When i walk i bow my head
I talk into the ground
Garbling all my words
Ill likely make no sound
When the bailiff comes around

You wont know how im feelin
Nor notice when im gone
Theres little here worth stealing
For the bailiff and his son

My granddad had his job,
And my father brewed the grog
And the tunes that where sung
Were familiar  to the tongue
When the pipers came to town

And the pledges that were made
For the working peoples gain
Were trusted and sometimes sound
And our mothers and fathers could stand their ground
With the politicians tramping around

I often think it quite perverse
That we have such things in reverse
Where a man can own the house i live in
Drawing blood from a stone
That doesn’t quench his thirst

Now i haven’t an educated eye
But when demand outstrips the supply
Doesn’t the thing the poor are wanting
Get harder to and harder to buy

Put it on credit till tommora
Though the fields are blazing over yonder
And the stars in our eyes
Are bursting in surprise
When the taxman comes to town

Young lads stalk with shiny new daggers
And complain of a lack of easy ladders
And the old ones they say its easy nowadays
As the copper makes his rounds
