Hi, what kind of songs do you guys like to make and review. Is this site more folk and country orientated? Or are you open to make all sorts of genres? thanks   ;D

Hi Fhaos!

You'll find almost any style or genre here. And I could probably even eliminate the word "almost".

I strongly recommend visiting the "Finished Songs" board and listening to some of the music. It'll give you a good idea of what other people here are writing. And you might find some kindred spirits.

And for information related to posting your music, you may find it useful to read the guidelines posted at the top of the "Finished Songs" board. There's guidelines at the top of the "Works in Progress" board, as well.

And, you'll find we're a pretty friendly bunch and would probably give you a gentle nudge in the right direction if you seem to be floundering.

Good luck and I look forward to hearing your music.

Vicki

Hi!

There are many genres that I haven't encountered
at this forum but that might be based on my personal
selections. Jazz, classic rock, rap are three of those.

A lot of the music has song in it and a lot of it falls
somewhere in singer/songwriter, pop or alternative
rock by my measures.
That is just my observation and in no way me pointing
out directions for how contributed music should orient
in terms of genre. All music is welcome and so are all
members!

Yep, generally accepted here that country music is the most noble genre  ;)

Errr ! I think that you will find examples of all of those 3 genres if you look around a bit  :)

I know I've seen some...but they can be hard to find. You might have to click through a lot of posts. Or maybe try searching for a genre word, narrowed down to the Finished songs and maybe the Works in Progress boards. For instance, try a search for the word "jazz" on only those two boards.

I actually found a sweet jazz ballad called 'Only you' by
ShinyThang posted in '13 by doing such a search.  :)

My answer was based on what I've come across in the
three months that I've been a member.

Cheers,

Martin

I wouldn't say it's all country/folk stuff at all, and I've been a member for a couple of months now.

I never know what genre to tag my own tracks with, but I know it's dance music influenced.

From what I've seen so far, the members on here are scattered all over planet earth and offer some excellent alternative angles on everyone's work. It's been a great eye/ear opener for me anyway.

Happy posting!

Caz :)

Cool, I guess it's not strictly based on a certain genre after all and I have seen around myself and found that to be true. thank u all
