This is not my favourite of yours

For me it was not "light" enough for a "vocal & guitar" but to be a "bigger" song it needs dirty guitars, drums, bass etc.

The vocal performance was top notch and I really like the "better man" refrain

Hey there Boydie......It's hard to please everyone. I have received an overwhelmingly positive response, however. I do, as well, hear a harder and more powerful arrangement for this. I just don't have a studio at my disposal....nor the time that I can devote to this right now. I have other songs to develop.

This one was easy because it was produced as a 1+1 (rule stipulation) for a little song competition  ;D

Thanks for listening!

And thanks to all who have listened!

Fine song. I especially enjoyed  the instrumental break - simple yet very effective.  No real need for a critique. This is accomplished songwriting. Well done.

 Hi  Tom,

WOW...loved this. Like the way you recorded it,
delivered the emotion in the performance really
well. Especially the picking sequences.  Excellent
gtr playing....like the way you 'wield your axe' my
friend ;D confident, accurate, relaxed, a joy to hear ;D

I don't know why, and I know you're from Hawaii, but
the whole package has a distinct 'American' feel, to my
old, conditioned ears.  If I didn't know where you were
from I'd think the same. It's not just your accent. I think
it's the way you write them over there......anyway I'll
 stop this ramble. ;D

Loved the song......excellent work, as usual ;D

Nowt as queer as folk...........my gran

Love the way you sing this like you mean it! It's a nice take on the subject, not too preachy really, though clear enough where you stand... Chorus comes over really well. Some fine guitar playing

I don't think I use the word "haunts" in the same way you do - a US-UK thing I guess...

Nice work!

I only use the first one but it seems the second is also in common use! http://www.dictionary.com/browse/haunt?s=t

Yo Tom.

Dunno how I managed to miss this one.  ???

I love the stripped back guitar and vocals delivery and although that's where I come from myself,I've just realised I never do that now....(rubs chin thoughtfully) The dangers of DAW,I suppose, everything can be made bigger,so the temptation is always there to do just that.

A fine strong song that stands proudly on it's own with no need for frills. Quite Don Henley in the vocal stakes, which is fine by me.  8)
