Hello,

A new track for your consideration, this time with a short 'story behind the song'...

Last year, I watched in horror (as many did) viral videos appear on social media, showing groups of teenagers bullying and beating up other kids. One video in particular showed a group of lads beating another lad unconscious in a forest.

As a father myself, this had a very deep impact on me, and I felt quite 'down' for a long time... so I decided to channel this, and wrote this song 'Reach Out', which I intended to be an anti-bullying song. I even teamed up with my wife Sally to record it.

If the track appeals to you, it can be downloaded from www.danieltrigger.bandcamp.com, where all proceeds are being sent directly to the Diana Award Anti-Bullying Campaign.

Hope you enjoy, and here are the lyrics...

REACH OUT

You’re battered down for the hundredth time,
It’s not your fault, there’s no reason why.

They’re telling you
(Hey hey) No-one believes you,
(Hey hey) Nobody sees you,
(Hey hey) There’s no-one to hear you scream.

Reach out for hope, reach out for love,
Open up so you don’t feel so helpless and alone,
Reach out for love.

Their twisted words cut like a knife,
A stupid game to make you cry.

They say to you,
Hey hey) No-one believes you,
(Hey hey) Nobody hears you.

Reach out for hope, reach out for love,
Open up so you don’t feel so helpless and alone,
Have some faith, confide in someone,
You will find that new horizon,
Through your darkest night will shine the dawn,
Remember you are not alone.

Reach – out  (reach our for love)
Reach – out  (reach our for love)
Reach – out  (reach our for love)
Reach – out  (reach our for love)

Reach out for hope, reach out for love,
Open up so you don’t feel so helpless and alone,
Have some faith, confide in someone,
You will find that new horizon,
Through your darkest night will shine the dawn,
Remember you are not alone.

Wo-ah - you are not alone
Wo-ah - you are not alone
Wo-ah - you are not alone

oh my goodness you do rock hard  & its very earnest & impassioned
& I try to resist it but by the end Im always stomping on the floor & playing air guitar,
shouting Woah Oh! & Hey Hey! & Reach Out!....these arent expressions I use day to day... but they seem totally natural here!   I must use them at work :)

Daniel theres no solo! thats unforgivable, you shouldve bullied the guitarist into playing one ...Ooops! sorry about that!..
Great stuff..you should call your band ROYGBIV  :)
Tell me Im wonderful & I ll be nice to you :)

Great stuff Daniel, an honarable cause of course. You sure sound like Mr Meatloaf and excellent production etc.... You're songs do make you want to go out and run naked in the woods but not a good idea here as we have no woods, just concrete and I sure as hell be arrested  :)

Hi!

Such a well performed track. Reminds me of Europe.
The message is clear but in some way the lyrics are a
bit too general to speak to me.

The singing is great!

Rock!!

A really great well produced rock song...good work!!

Haha at the naked running through woods comment above! If you're making people streak you're onto something ;)

All the best

Thank you for the kind feedback, guys!

And LOL I do enjoy the soundbites - "makes me want to run through the woods naked" ha ha! :)

Although my personal fave is still "the sound of Bruce Willis driving a tank through my skull"

LOL!

Hey Daniel, firstly what a great name you have! This genre isn't my music of choice normally but I must say I really enjoyed this - if I had hair I would put my head out of the car window and let it blow in the wind while screaming out the chorus in my best rock vocal ( I don't really have a rock vocal btw). A really well performed and recorded track and all for a great cause too. Well done to you and Sally.

Hi,

Proper rock song and your voice is among the best on here.

Overall a great rocking vibe that conveys an important message, good production too.

Well impressive!  :)

I love a bit "hair rock" and this doesn't disappoint

Really enjoyed it but I do think a "rock out guitar solo" should have come in after the little false ending

The ending was a bit cut off

Overall though it ticked all the other boxes for me - great stuff!

Thank you for the feedback guys - so I'll be sure the next track has a solo ha ha!

Interesting that the cut-off ending was spotted, this was originally done to edit the track down to exactly 3 minutes, which was a requirement of a particular radio station. And it's surprising how short 3 minutes is when you have a limit to your song length!
