Hi there,

I am currently working with a producer however in order for me to ensure my songs are fully prepared before going into the studio I'd like to get a good recording app to hear them as crisp as possible.

I only record me voice and guitar (played at the same time), and I currently use iTalk, iTalk sounds okay but it also leave a slight background muffled noise, I was wondering if you knew any out there that worked? And can sound like a legitimate recording of a song, that you can export to an MP3.

Cheers
Jack

Hi Jack,
I use FoutTrack on IOS. it can record individual tracks and them mix and export. Its does the job but there may be better out there.

I think your biggest barrier to a "pro" recording on an iPhone is the pre amp and analogue to digital (A/D) converter on the iPhone  ( which are not designed for pro audio)

Your best bet is to find a way to record via the digital port either using an audio interface (if you already have a microphone) or an all in one solution such as this:

Boydie hit the nail on the head.

if you are dead set on recording to an iphone or ipad, i suggest looking into iRig products.  they have recording interfaces designed just for that purpose.  i would want an interface that allows use of a standard microphone and 1/4" input.

Voice Record Pro is truly the best. I've used other apps and they just don't compare to the quality in sound. You can also change the speed of the audio and export it in tons of different formats including MP3.
