BIG respect guys, and good luck ;D ;D

I've listened to all your songs so far, and
think what you're attempting is amazing.

I'm especially impressed with Pauls lyrics.
Are they all 'off the cuff' ?  Even more
impressive ;D and Tina your vocals
 are sounding sexy ;D  ;D

Thanks...Broadmoor was 80% written off the cuff...I had a handful of lines written, but no format to them.

I wrote all of "requiem for the suicided" last week from scratch.

I did "we are legion" on Saturday based around an "anonymous" group mission statement I saw on the internet...thought it was an interesting and terse sort of threat that worked quite well...so I used and expanded on that in about an hour. Recording the whole thing took about three hours. It's very short and repetitive though.

I'm hoping to do one today "the Last Waltz" which is three verses I posted here in Dec 2015...I wrote another five verses and a chorus yesterday too.

FAWM is proving great for concentrating my thoughts and writing stuff i might normally keep to myself.

I've always been drawn towards grim, heavy duty stuff.

And I've always been a bit angry  :D

That reminds me of Churchills comment "Mr Attlee is a very modest man...indeed he has a lot to be modest about"

Love your vocal on this, Tina. You're playing is always great...but this adds an extra dimension to your inspired and charming material, I reckon  :)

This is number 4.

I added a lot to this...although i preferred it as it was...it was initially called "the last waltz" and i changed it around a bit...and called it this instead

i love squeeze  :)

i wrecked my voice at last nights gig...so really struggled to do the vocal.

I'll be away from my guitars and stuff for a few days...so i wanted to get something else down first.

8 days in, understand enough
how it works. I decided only way to make this work for me was to collab with lyricists.  It's a bit manic, very enthusiastic, the key if you want to collaborate is to sort the wheat from the chaff. The experiences and lessons learnt from this forum are a great foundation. As ever well written lyrics make songwriting a joy. So nowrelaxing and not letting the time pressure get to me, focusssing on quality!

4 songs written and demos recorded so far, including co-write a with PaulAds and one with Igg. Thanks guys.
2 more co-writes under development with Paul
1 corker of a song with Igg, just wrote tune in my head and recoded on my iPhone on train to London!
3 more collabs with lyrics agree music to be developed.
Just about balancing work/life/music balance.
 :)

Bin thanks so much for listening to my songs  :-*...i dont expect you to!
im just posting them here so people interested can see my progress ...youll hear them later in the year anyway as i glam them up & post them in the finished songs section ;D
yes you only get 2 days per song if you want to do the 14 ...but i go armed with loads of ideas & use FAWM to get psyched up enough to make songs from all the bits i have collected but its still a marathon effort to do it well
anyway I finished no.4 tonight & hope to post a quick instrumental tomorrow to get 5 done ...i need to reach 7 by the 14th  ::)  im spending too much time on each song at the mo

see you all in March!

Brill stuff from Paul and Neil.
I love the Legion track Paul, stellar.

I'm amazed you keep the quality when the focus is on the quantity.

i did a instrumenta
http://fawm.org/songs/69515/

So here's a confession, I'm truly not comfortable with instrumentals, that and also weird and wacko stuff. I tend to avoid listening and commenting on those because it's too far away from where I myself hang out, just not my turf. It's like being asked for directions in unfamiliar territory. I feel out of place and like I've got nothing valuable to offer.

With that said though, I did listen to it and...

DAMN!!!  ;D ;D ;D

That second guitar part, right after the long snare fill, that I could listen to all day!!!
I've already listen to the song 4 times and unexpectedly, I do not plan to stop either?!?! It's just great to be blown away and totally surprised by a song like this. And my narrow minded skull desperately needs it so thanks for that.  ;)

What can I say other than I loved it Tina! Keep it up and don't loose hope, March is just 'round the corner.

Cheers,

Peter

Just listened to Grow your own man by Tina. Love the dirty guitar so much. Interesting regarding The Primitives references. I've got a demo track where Tracy Tracy was singing backing VOCs for me in 85. Will have to post it some time
