It's a real head hurt sometimes deciding what to leave out of a song,Boydie judged it just fine.

Beautiful piece and lovely it has found a bigger audience.  :)

Very nice, must be some accredit to have been picked to open the show also.

Congratulations indeed, you'll have to let us know the process if you find the time.

All the best,
Scott.

Congratulations guys!  What an achievement!  And a great song too - really works well with just the vocals/piano and a bit of strings.  Gives the vocals the space they need.

I too would be interested in what you did to get it on the radio.

Thanks folks! As for how we came to be on the radio, it's a piece of cake: just upload your music to BBC Introducing here https://www.bbc.co.uk/music/introducing/uploader

You'll need to register for an account if you haven't already, then upload some tracks. You can only have 3 unlistened tracks on your profile at any given time. And it can take a long time for them to be heard as they have such a volume of uploads to get through. I uploaded straitjacket 7 months ago :o - had totally given up hope of getting airplay, so it was a very pleasant surprise.

Hey Tone,

Cheers for the heads up, didn't see a reason not to so I've uploaded a couple of mine.

Would suggest anyone to do really - actually submitting is easy can only hope it hit's the spot for someone - could have a radio wave of forum talent in 6-7 months maybe? :P

Cheers,
Scott.

I've uploaded tracks from time to time and had emails back to say they've been listened to. Usually the email says the track has been listened to by your local station but the last two were listened to by loads of local stations. Don't know what that means  ??? Interesting about the 7 month wait Tone as I have only uploaded stuff fairly recently

Do you have to be a British artist, or can you be... let's say... a Yank?

From what I know,as long as your song is an mp3,you could be Martian,Pop.  :D

Actually I do think you have to be living in the UK to meet the criteria - the introducing shows are produced regionally, so you can only get played on your local show. If you don't live in the UK, you won't have a local show (as far as I know)

To be fair I can't see anything in the T & C's but it does require a postcode, so maybe just get a google maps ;)

That's kinda what I expected -- that you had to be a UK resident. Still, was worth asking. We have Local Band shows here in Chicago, too, and I've been on a couple of those.
These kinds of shows are great exposure, especially if you're gigging locally. And it's always a blast to hear yourself on the radio.
I repeat: Congratulations Tone and Boydie!
