Hello...simple enough really...

What do you think is the best song you've written?

Maybe add a link...

A chance to catch up on some stuff we might have missed...

Is that ok with The Moderators?

Any takers?

The first song I ever posted here "I Learned To Walk". It's been downhill ever since (for songwriting, not walking. The walking has mostly been uphill!).

Cool song Del,but the one that followed on from that on your YouTube slot, was a belter too. (Drag you back) Lots of classy stuff there man.

I think it's very difficult for a writer to state a choice for 'best song',maybe we are all too close to our own stuff to get proper perspective. That's where this forum helps.

Interesting thread Paul,I'll need to have a think....

Wow ! This is very subjective. I could tell you the song that other people said they liked the best, I could tell you which song received the best reviews on the forum but what I think is the best song, no, worst maybe yes  :)

Of course, I'm totally not objective, so who knows? But I think I like my "The Mark of the Chains" best. My husband, though, thinks "Everybody Wants You, Baby" is my biggest hit. :) That's the one I wrote for the Valentine competition last winter, but you probably haven't heard the most recent version (at the link above), which I just had produced by Boydie.

Both great songs, Vicki. Great to hear them again. I think your husband is right - that's a classic :-)

Whenever this songs comes up on my shuffle, I think to myself, "Damn! I wish I wrote that song!"
And then I remember... I DID!!! And it makes me happy.

"Everybody Wants You Baby" reminds me a lot of something like Kirsty MacColl would have written in the 80s. And that is a very good thing. I am a sucker for a great Kirsty tune. Love this one!

And on "Mark of the Chains" your voice has a definite Dagmar Krause thing happening, which I like quite a bit. And it's a very good song, as well. But, I do have to go with your husband on this one.
But they are both great tunes!
