Edit: everything

"Who Shot John Goose?"

They shot John Goose on the corner of
Malcom X Boulevard and
West 135th

Bleeding in the street
They brought him to his knees
They murdered peace with a dirty knife.

And I asked why they would do it
I thought he was everything
But John goose was just a man
And not the idea.

And maybe if we could
Believe the things we read,
We always hear about
These things we never see.
We never talk about
What it really means
And we don't talk about it afterwards.

End of that.

Now before you ask who john goose is, he is a fictional nyc philanthropist who donates lots of money to liberal causes.
He gets shot and killed.

It's metaphor for today's times.

I don't plan on making very specific references to incidents, or pointing fingers. It's perspective is from the sidelines.

I don't expect a whole lot of feedback, but this is helpful in my writing process so toooooooo baaaaaadddd. Haha

A possible direction you could consider.  Taken from your notes on what the song is about.

They shot John Goose on the corner of
Malcom X Boulevard and
West 135th

Bleeding in the street
They brought him to his knees
They murdered peace with a dirty knife.

A fictional murder.
A metaphor
The death of right and wrong.

Remember when we used to care?
When life was not too much to bear?
Or was that too long ago?

I like the snowflake metaphor, I would work with it instead of the goose

Or use snowflake to build the refrain
