Hi!
I posted a song a couple of days ago and in my impatience I didn't bother to say Hi first.
Seems like there are a lot of interesting people here so I hope to get to know some of you and hope that I can get some advice on how to improve my music... (don't think I'm good enough to give people advice on here, everyone seems damn good so far!)
I'm in Manchester, and I work in IT but spend a lot of my free time in environmental activism... not the tree hugger kind, or the type to chain myself to railings, but the kind the spends all evening writing to MPs...
I write music in lots of styles. Don't know what I should specialise in, or if I even should. I like to write punk stuff like Wire or Buzzcocks style, more weird stuff like the Fall, or delicate numbers like Radiohead. And my voice seems to change! It seems to be like Billy Corgan at the moment. I have most fun when writing punk stuff and jumping around, but I also want to use songs as a way to talk about issues I care about.
I don't have much of a clue about writing songs, or recording... I've just got an 8 track (which I've just worked the drum machine out on), a Taylor, and a Telecaster.
Hmm. That's about it I guess. Looking forward to getting to know people!
