I am writing a song about meeting a girl in the summer of 2010. I am stuck on the lyrics.  ??? It is an electropop song with quite a smooth, summery sound, a bit like Taio Cruz or someone similar. Can you help me with the verses and the chorus?

Verse 1
Back in the summer of 2010
That's when I found you,
We were so young and we didn't have a care
That's how I loved you, We had no money in our pockets but it didn't really matter
Cause I still loved you,
Cause we liked to (dance dance party dance, party party party dance)*
That's why I love you

Chorus
We just wanna light up the sky
Gonna go all night, gonna do it right
We just wanna lie down on the grass
in the glow of the night, in the moonlight
Katy Perry on the radio
and we danced all night, til the morning light
I just wanna go back in time
to when we were friends, in 2010

Verse 2
______________________________
______________________________
______________________________

Because we danced, danced like it was 2010
______________________________
______________________________

Because we liked to (dance dance party dance party party party dance)*
______________________________

(Repeat chorus)

Verse 3

(Repeat chorus twice)

For the second verse, I would like it in the same pattern as verse 1, but with different lyrics obviously. If it's any help, I'd quite like something about walking on the sand/beach or something.
For the chorus, I want it in the same pattern as the line I've written, like we just wanna ------, ------, -----
Ones with the lines in red are the ones that need lyrics
No drug references, sex references, and especially no swearing allowed

Thank you to anyone who helps me

Hi,

Why don't you try to finish the song yourself and then look for feedback to improve it? Or you could always look for a collaborator? Do you have music to set the lyrics to?
Cheers

Hey Nicky,

Thought I'd have a bash at two lines in the chorus, for a feeler on what you're looking for - so let me know if this is down the right lines.

Also, very important is that this is a great forum for getting feedback, but you get what you give. You wont have much reception on this until you given some feedback to others; which you've obviously capable of as you've done well in these lyrics. Why not introduce yourself in the Introduction Board too?

Chorus
We just wanna light up the sky
Gonna go all night, gonna do it right
We want to lay on the grass
In the glow of the night, moon-light
Katy Perry on the radio

Hey Nicky,

I was worried after reading my post that I'd taken up too many rhyming words for the chorus, and can't decide if the resulting repetition is a good or bad thing (Que some else's input?)

Also nice to see your introduction - still not seeing any feedback from you(?) but guess there's some occasion where a little input from the forum to get those young talented songwriters started and engaged can be justified. I think there's a difference between a 16 year old dipping their toe at exposing their song writing and trying to get a hand before 'jumping in' compared to those more experienced who come on here just looking for some cheap contributions and feedback.

I have been planning on spending some time on this with you but have been struggling to sit down with my laptop, but be assured my Sunday is looking calm and free  (if you're not done by then) :)

All the best, and get them feedbacks posted - it's currency!
