Hi,

So I wrote this last week...I wanted to try out ballady type vocals .... It was fun to do....Tony and I got together and came up with some instrumental parts and a quick mix.....I hope you like it....Any suggestions to make it better are very welcome

I know it turned out to be a long song....but I kind of like it.....

SO FAR ALONG YOUR WAY

Words and Music ©I.wolosenko

Vocals - Igg
Lead guitar, Mando,Bass - Tony DiGregorio
Guitar, Cello, Drums - Igg

Yeah I get it
Every song's a piece of art
An illuminated portrait ...of your broken heart
I've seen the fine details you paint
I just can't listen to
Any more complaint

It's all right
So take it all for what it's worth
Are you feeling like an angel .. fallin.... fallin.. back to earth
But till the world can make you smile
you walk by yourself
through every weary mile

Pre Chorus:
It 's just a stage ..everyone must play
Spend some time together..Before we blow away

Chorus:
I know....... you are so beautiful
But that's just me and may not be enough
So you paint your moonlit scenes
And dream your lonely dreams
As you move along your way
So far...So far along your way

And I know
Each painting's got a lot to say
It's all colored in the blood....that lights up every day
And all your watercolor skies
They're just waiting
For your sun to rise

Chorus:
Pre Chorus:

You have a way with words I like. I think my favorite part of this is "watercolor skies". I like how all the words work together to set a consistent mood, and I just like the way the song uses the image of an artist painting to get the idea across.

It is a little long, as you mentioned, but I didn't really get tired of listening before it was over.

I was confused by one thing...the "blood...that lights up every day".

Otherwise, no nits.

Wow such a classy ballad igg! in a old fashion style...beautiful lyrics & a great vocal combine to make this quite superb ….its so well crafted with such a lovely tastefully done backing
I was going to say it stayed at one level all the way through but thats only bcos modern ballads are so overwrought & overdone to extract all the emotion from us...so actually it was refreshing to hear one that didint
I loved it...i could imagine it being a sought after song for balladeers to cover  :)
brilliant song!
Tell me Im wonderful & I ll be nice to you :)

Hey Guys you really knock me out with your wonderful comments...

Vicki - Thanks for the comments on the lyrics....It's such a delicate balancing act...to find a voice that tries to blend emotion and imagery...This one leaves a lot to the imagination...And I'm gratified that your were held all the way through...

Tina - You say the nicest things!....I'm glad to hear such a heartfelt response from a modern girl like you...:>)   But really, one two of the qualities that I admire about both you and your music...is your fearless energy and positive exuberance....It takes you to the most interesting places....!

Kevin
- Thanks so much for your your comments...deeply appreciated....Our music tends to differ in it's form but strives to reach for the same emotional depth....  I suppose, in an effort to turn the mundane into the sublime...

Skub
- Very glad you liked it!....My pleasure in sparkling up your night!

Thought I'd have a listen, and felt compelled to tell you that I think is very nice. Some very strong songwriting and performing. What a great opening verse  ;)
Lovely stuff!

Very well written lyric with good imagery, nice phrasing and just enough room for the listener to live in.  Nice work, guys!

I really liked this Igg. It was slightly different from you. At first I got a "Wild Horses" feel from the song but then it developed into something else. I loved the careworn vocals and subtle backing.

Good Stuff

Not to pile on the praise.... but I loved the lyric.  I'm going now to listen to the music as I read along with the lyric.

Okay. . . I just listened and I'm blown away.  Totally beautiful.  Little bit of Gordon Lightfoot and a little bit of sixties "crying guitar."   I don't know when I've heard a song I liked better.

In a perfect world, this song would be on the radio.  That's just an opinion. . . but it's a sincere opinion.

One of your best for sure igg.
Great hook, well placed and framed with a beautiful melody and progression.
Reminded me of Ian Tyson in the vocals.
Congrats on a great write and performance :)

Guitars and soundscape all sounding great.
Like the gently weaving backing.
Think the cello should be a bit a louder in the mix and some more backing vocals.
Nice and delicate
