Hi Everybody,

It has fallen to me to organise the July SOTM competition.

I've only considered entries from members with 100+ posts and I just want you to PM me with your favourite song by Friday 19th of August.

Before I list the 5 songs in contention, I should make special mention of 3 songs which were on my long list but just missed the final 5. They are all great IMHO so a big round of applause for

Why this?  Not that the few I have posted are anything spectacular but this stipulation could eliminate some good stuff from being considered.  A good song is a good song, regardless of any other factors.
Not complaining, just don't find the logic in this rule.

I believe its to discourage fly-by-nighters coming on to post, get some glory (or not), then buggering off again. Keep up regular reviews and you'll soon be up to 100. Maybe it could be changed to a member who has done a certain number of reviews...I agree with what you say about the songs obviously...

I'm never entirely comfortable with music competitions,but it's undeniably nice when folk like our music.
