Hey everyone!

Actually I had prepared another song to post, but then I had some time today and wrote (well finished) and recorded my competition entry just for the heck of it. And now I just feel compulsed to post it against all reason, right away. So here goes:

Bare bones of life

In the production I kept it "bare bones" by recording everything for real, without any samples or midi cheating this time. So the rhythm is slapped out on my guitar, and I borrowed my daughter's toy recorder as a lead instrument.

Lyrics:

the bare bones, the bare bones, the bare bones of life
the bare bones, the bare bones, the bare bones feel right

give me some water, a glass of wine
a little chardonnay, and I feel fine

the bare bones ...

a piece of bread to dip in cream
and the smoked salmon tastes like a dream

it is so easy to make me glad
just keep me comfy and very well fed

the bare bones ...

my pretty woman right by my side
romantic music on a moonlit night

it is so easy to make me glad
I want to live a life before I am dead

the bare bones...

Looking forwards to your comments,

Bye Wolfi

Cheeky interpretation of the comp.

Having said that, cool song.

Excellent guitar playing and love those flutes/ horns?

Hey there Wolfini....I really like this!! What a great easy listening piece. Nothing to interpret, nothing to read into.....a beautiful simplicity, that most songs (and their writers) have forgotten. The cleverness to this is in its simplicity.
BRAVO!!

Great idea and love the tongue in cheek interpretation of "bare bones"...

Nice (ironic) idea to use the recorder!

Nice tune, and properly bare bones!

Wasn't sure if you are were ironic or not with the chardonnay and the smoked salmon for a while  Depending on who it is coming from those things may seem like the bare (or bear?) necessities. I would have been slightly more direct in pointing the finger. Your take has a laudable subtlety  :)

Tom.

Hey Wolfini,it's great to hear a voice that sounds like you and not trying to sound like anyone else.

Cool little song with a catchy hook.

I'm a real fan of your quirky style and unique voice Wolfi. Interesting interpretation which had me singing along by the end of the song, really catchy  :)

This is a nice little tune and really embraces the bare bones concept

I loved the rhythm sound tapped out on the guitar body - it really gave the song an organic feel

The acoustic was a bit bright and jangly for my taste - but it did suit the jaunty feel of the track, as did the "quirky" vocal

Great stuff

Well Wolfi,

You've really stripped it down to the essentials.....LOL   I like the energy of the vocal and spare guitar work....   Nicely Done!

Hi Wilfi

To me this has 60's coffee shop written all over it - great!
Flower power, mammas and pappas, - are you going to San Francisco?
What a great walk down memory lane!

Good luck in the comp!
Paul
