There's nothing that gets me high
like standing by your side
watching this open road unwind
before our very eyes
so baby lean into me
and set your spirit free
while that radio sings an old love song
from 1963

my love is deeper that the water
'neath the crashing waves
and stronger than that old steel bridge
that spans across the bay
i'm down on my knees baby
let me prove its true
i wanna ride off into the sunset with you

girl you sure look good tonight
by the glow of the dashboard light
in your worn in denim jacket
at the drivein by my side
when the movie fades to black
we'll sneak out the back
just tell me more tell me more bout that heart of your's
and how it got so off track

my love is deeper than the water
'neath the crashing waves
and stronger than that old steel bridge
that spans across the bay
I'm down on my knees baby
let me prove it's true
i wanna ride off into the sunset with you

we could live like this forever
starting tonight
and i promise this tattered heart of mine
will be your's til the day i die
TAKE IT!!!

love is deeper than the water
neath the crashing waves
and stronger than that old steel bridge
that spans across the bay
I'm down on my knees baby
let me prove it's true
i wanna ride off into the sunset with you
i wanna ride off into the sunset with you

my love is deeper than the water
'neath the crashing waves
and stronger than that old steel bridge
that hangs 'cross Sturgeon Bay

Good song.....I don't know your expectations, nor the time you've put into your music; but, it's a nice song on an amateur level. As an amateur myself, I can tell you that the recording makes all the difference. Your recording is a bit fun and loose. I think that people / other songwriters expect real good recordings from the ones they want to respect. Again, decent song....sounds like something Van Morrison would experiment with..........Good luck. Like your flare.
Good stuff!

Okay you got style Man and this would work with live audience, my first thoughts maybe you need to slow them in there.

I like the style of this type of song...great to listen to live and the production has that kind of feel to it. Good backing vocals on the verse as well as the percussion. Nice twangy solo although I prefered the faster bit at the start...nice slow down at the end as well. Anyway, great song all round!

It's a very pleasant listen, quite ragged but possessing a charm with that.

Loved to title, very easy to recall and drew me in. Musically the song did exactly what I expected once I got into it, not really stepping out of that country pop style. A few more surprises would improve it but only a few.

Production wise it's a little ragged to be effective and would like the timing to be a little better with the loose feel maintained.

It's a really nice listen overall, thanks for posting  :)

Tom.

Good bass line which is providing a nice hook/rhythm, particularly for the verse.  I felt the ending of the guitar riff in the chorus (starting at 0.49) does not quite fit - would probably replace that with something else.  Quite like your voice - quite nice.  Maybe the guitar solo needs a bit of work.   Definitely like that main bass line during the verse though - it works very well with the chord progression and the vocal melodies you are putting over it (went back for another listen).  Could imagine this worked into something really nice.

Some clear influences there but an effective well written song I think. Bass anchors the rhythm which is good. With a little tightening up of the other parts, as others have said, and perhaps another look at the guitar solo this would sound great.

I enjoyed it - what I found particularly refreshing was the track had a really organic sound (I'm guessing all recorded live?), and it was a delight to hear all real instruments rather than programmed and processed stuff.

It did have a yester-year feel, partly due to the imperfections which I feel should be left just as they are, as they add character.

Maybe just a touch more polish on the production perhaps, but overall great stuff.
