Bourbon Street

So long, to you my friend it’s time that we split ways
I’ll forever remember you, all the bad and the good ol’ days
I’m bound and all I know
It hurts me to let go
But who knows I may plant my feet
Down on Bourbon Street

Too fast, you and I, we were young and wild at heart
Made the world, slow down it’s pace and follow us right from the start
Like a restless blowing wind beat down upon your skin
We were friends, we were enemies
Down on Bourbon Street

So long, to you my love, don’t you cry ’cause we’ve reached the end
As you well know, I bleed the same, but still consider us the best of friends
Now I’m bound and all I know
It hurts me to let go
But for you my love, I’ll skip a beat
Down on Bourbon Street
Yeah for you my love, I’ll skip a beat
Down on Bourbon Street

A fine choon. Vocals reminiscent of Kings of Leon, great delivery.

I've listen a few times now,the song is as catchy as hell, upbeat and happy sounding contrasting comfortably with the 'drowning sorrows' theme in the lyrics.

Bourbon Street,y'all...go git sum.  8)

Hi S. This is super catchy. One listen and you are singing along. I love the simplicity of it and I think your vocal delivery is outstanding. Like Paul it reminded me of Kings of Leon. The tambourine just drives it along at the right pace and lovely guitar.Really works well.

Cheers John

This is an excellent song, love the hook in the guitar section.

Definitely Kings of Leon, and a hint of Bruce Springsteen.

Fantastic singing, cool voice.

I likes this a lot.

Oh man. Several times recently there have been songs on this site that I have declared my favourites - and now there's another one. I love this. I buy albums of stuff like this and I'd buy yours. Love your voice, love the feel, the arrangement and the instrumentation. The length. The lyrics. I wouldn't change a thing. Just great!

:) This is so good, the feel, the sound, love the guitar and voice, it is the whole package. We try to make our songs too clever and simplicity will win it every time for me

@Everyone commenting.

Thanks a lot all of you for your very kind words! It seems it wasn't one of my worst, hehe, you never really can't tell can you?!! So glad to hear you liked it. I'm not used to hearing so much positive thoughts on my music and singing, mainly because I haven't let so many listen to it, but definitely this getting praise thing is starting to grow on me, it's not so bad at all to throw your music out there for others to listen to. =)

For future reference, IF you don't like it don't worry, I've got thick skin, I can handle it so don't hesitate to  come at me full force. Just saying!

Ya'll made my week! Thanks again!

Cheers,

S

Hi,

I would echo the positive things previous posts have mentioned. Basically, it's a doozy. Everything I like in music - simple, effective, great basic song perfectly delivered but not derivative. No negative comments - it's fresh and perfect. I love it.

Lots to like hear.
Simple but very effective backing drives it along neatly and the vocals and melody have a great lived in feel, like you've heard it before but in a good way.
Which all set of the lyrics which are very good IMHO.
Going to have another listen.
