I know there are a whole load of these services out there, but does anybody have any experiences or good recommendations that they can share? I am using one for the first time at the moment (I won't post a link until I see their results  ;D) but I can see there are many to choose from, varying widely in price and the packages offered.

The best solution is obviously learning to mix and master yourself, but I am a long way from this at the moment.

Hey MartynRich

This is a service I can offer

I am still learning (so the price reflects that  ;)) but I am building up my toys and have developed a mastering chain that is getting some very nice results

My "USP" would be working with "home recordings" to give their tracks a pro / radio ready sound - and I have developed some techniques for this purpose

The key to finding an online mastering (or mixing or production) service is COMMUNICATION

Will they deliver something YOU want or something THEY think it should sound like

Music is sooooo subjective it is important to find someone you can work with to discuss ideas but ultimately end up with something YOU are happy with

I will drop you a PM with some more details

Hey Martyn

I'd just like to chime in and say Boydie is true to his word. He might be 'still learning' but boy can he pull a great sound out of the bag. Here's a tune I sent him as a simple piano/ vocal demo. What you hear is all his production/ mixing general genius https://soundcloud.com/anthony-lane/straitjacket

@MartynRich,

I'm with Tone...take a look at a variety of songs in these forums. You'll notice several of them were produced by Boydie, so you can get a first-hand listen of how good he is. Here's another one you can use for reference, if you like: https://soundcloud.com/caliamoko/ballad-of-the-maid-of-innail. The only part I did was the vocals--and he even manipulated my lead to add harmony vocals to the mix!

Both tracks both sound very good and very professionally produced (great songwriting too, but Im sure that is for another thread). I reckon things are moving forward...
