Crazy Moon
Copyright 2016 Tennyson Road music

Hey, Moon!
Why the gloom and doom?
You were full of shine
Just the other night

Say, Moon!
Why'd you change the tune?
That old melody
Wouldda seen ya through

{ch}
Crazy moon
How'd you lose the way?
You had it made!
You had it made!

Yo, Moon!
Why'd you step aside?
You were makin' waves
You were breakin' tide

Forget the sun
He don't rule the night
There's more to life
Than a blindin' light

Crazy moon
How'd you lose your way?
You had it made!
Made in the shade!

.....instrumental....

Forget the sun
He don't own the night
There's more to love
Than blindin' light

Crazy moon
Now you've gone astray
And we had it made
...we had it made...

I can hear this being a peppy pop song. I can also hear it being a kind of melancholy lament sort of thing. I'm curious as to what kind of treatment you have in mind.

I think it's cute, kind of "slangy". The rhyme scheme is a little inconsistent--mainly the first half of the first verse doesn't match the pattern of the rest of the lyric.

Oops! My ride is coming...that's pretty much all I had to say, anyway. I look forward to hearing it.

Wonderfully simple lyric.  So much will depend upon the music.  As Vicki said, it can be so many things depending upon the music.

I'm looking forward to hearing where you take this.  I have no idea where I would go with it.

No matter where you take it musically, I think it's a great lyric.

Love is simplicity and sheer charm.

Could even go with another verse maybe,  I think the song could take it, maybe a different direction like "Hey moon, do you remember when. ...."

It sounds like a bluesy lament to me but can't wait to hear how it actually is.

Cheers

Thanks all for the kind words.
I thought it might be TOO simple :).
The singer has lost his mojo - or at least that's what I think it was about :)

thanks again!
