Lyrics

Verse One

I had a woman, a best friend and money
I thought I had it all
Then one day them three got it together
And my key wouldn't fit my door

Chorus
(My) best friend,  my woman and my money
Used to worry me before
All the things that used to worry me
Don't worry me no more

I had a woman, a best friend and my money
Now I ain't none no more
All the things that used to worry me
Don't worry me like before

Verse two
My best friend got his feet nicely under
A table that I bought
So now I quit my job cos I aint gotta
buy that stuff no more

Now I ain't got no lying best friends
Trying a take what I ain't got
Cos I ain't got no money
Or no woman to break my heart

Chorus
(My) best friend,  my woman and my money
Used to worry me before
All the things that used to worry me
Don't worry me no more

I had a woman, a best friend and my money
Now I ain't none no more
All the things that used to worry me
Don't worry me like before

Verse 3
People ask me how I'm doing
I say "I'm doing fine"
No woman best friend money
Is a weight off of my mind

I know they don't believe me
But I'm as happy as a calm
Now I don't know how happy clams is
But I know I am, cos. ...

Chorus
(My) best friend,  my woman and my money
Used to worry me before
All the things that used to worry me
Don't worry me no more

I had a woman, a best friend and my money
Now I ain't none no more
All the things that used to worry me
Don't worry me like before

hey Paul,

great guitar on this one!

I'd love to hear a good bit more volume on the vocal though...let those lyrics shine through! :)

Promising effort though

1. I like the peppy and catchy tune and rhythm. Makes me tap my foot and want to sing along. I got a kick out of the lines: "My best friend got his feet nicely under / A table that I bought."

2. I like the message of being detached from events over which you have no control. Although, I suspect the singer might be trying to convince himself?

3. I had trouble following the lyrics, even while they were right in front of me. For one thing, you sang them differently than they are printed--sometimes different words, sometimes in a different order. For another, it sounded like you put a microphone in front of your guitar and played away while you were singing somewhere above it. In other words the guitar sounds like it's close to the microphone and your voice sounds like your face is far away.

I might have had more comments on the lyrics--or maybe not--but I'm not sure because I don't think what's printed quite matches what you sang.

Overall, I find it a good crowd-pleasing foot-stomper.
