Forgot to mention, just invested in LA Scoring Strings Lite. Hope to be uploading something new with a rich string arrangement soon  :)

Hi all, I posted above but didn't mention my computer spec. I've got  a 27" Apple 3.2QC/2x4GB//1TB/GR55M whatever that means! ??? :P. I have AX7 monitors, SE2200T condenser mic for vocals and acoustic guitars, Korg Kronos keyboard, Gibson Les Paul std, Gibson SG std, custom Fender stratocaster, Fender jazz bass, Gretsch 5750, Martin acoustic, and my first Yamaha electric guitar which I still use live for special tuning for placebo songs, special k and the bitter end! Of all my guitars the Yamaha holds its tuning best and it was the cheapest!

Cheers
Jamie

Windoze 64 bit Acer lap-top running Mixcraft & Melodyne (Melodyne totally screws things up really quickly)
Focurite Scarlet 2i2 (yes they are brilliant)
Samson Meteor USB stereo condenser mic (picks up fleas farting in the next room)
Primo Dynamic Mic (sold to me in the eighties as 'good as a Sure SM58 ... yeah rite!)

Recording-wise that's it! I love how compact the modern world can be
They're, there, their  ...  They're all different!

Computer: Macbook Air
Audio Interface: Duet Apogee
DAW: Logic Pro X
Plugins: All waves
Keyboard: One I don't use
Mic: Miktek C4
Preamp: Universal Audio LA 610
Bass: Fender P-bass Roadworn
Guitars acoustic: Gibson Hummingbird
                          Yamaha -92 Mid body
                          Cort (something)
A couple of old ones, which I play, just rarely record.
Guitars electric: Gibson Les Paul
Guitar resonance: Dobro
Various percussion to add a sense of real playing.
Drums: I use Logics Drummer. Try not to fiddle with it too much. A fill here and there and usually take away most if not all crashes. (This from a former drummer.)
Speakers: KRK ?
Headphones: Audio Technica ATH M50

That's about it. I'm on a lifelong journey trying hard to learn how to use them all properly too. =)

Acer laptop - medium spec for about four years ago, I'd hazard.
Sonar X-1 LE
Samson USB mic
Headphones - Tesco cheapies

Headphone plugs into the mic, mic plugs into USB port and I'm ready to rock'n'roll!

And one of the following guitars:

Martin 00015m
Tanglewood TW40
Tanglewood TW60
Furch DM32
Manouche Modele Jazz

I don't think I've posted anything electric but I have a '79 strat and a couple of teles, too.

My stuff is all set up in the "office" (used to be the spare bedroom).

Old Acer TravelMate 4230 laptop. Not hooked up to internet and not used for anything else. Runs XP.

Shure BG 5.0 condenser mic
AKG P-220 condenser mic
PreSonus AudioBox 44 VSL mixer/amp whatever it's called--connects mics to computer
Shure SRH 440 headphones
Reaper
Audacity, sometimes
Estaban American Legacy Midnight Steel 6-string acoustic/electric guitar
Kona Signature 12-string
Roland EM-303 "Intelligent Synthesizer" keyboard

I also have a Yamaha DGX-505 keyboard, but it isn't in the "office". It's out in plain sight to tease the grandkids into saying things like, "Oh, can I play on that???"

I think that's it.

Great reading...thanks to everyone for posting your setups!

Very impressive what you all manage to create without studios full of fancy stuff :)

Hey I notice I haven't contributed to this!

I use the home desktop PC which is a bog-standard thing about 2 years old.

I started with Podium Free and still use it. It has a nice, cool brushed-metal look interface which is essential of course. It has an excellent midi editor and wave editor both of which I use a lot with my fake instruments and loops. No bundled plug-ins to speak of so whatever is free! For free software it's bloody good.

Focusrite Scarlett Solo for vocals with Sennheiser 815 S-X mic (on offer when I bought the Solo)

Yamaha LL11-E Acoustic which I bought 15 years ago when I had some money.

A couple of Hohner Special 20s and a Lee Oskar.

The 1930s Cramer upright for messing about on.

A pouch of Drum tobacco, lots of coffee and the occasional glass of red.
Take it easy.

You can check my stuff out here. Mini-album getting bigger slowly. Free download if you're poorer than me.

Excellent choice of baccy, there chickenfeet

Reasonably priced, tasty and dependable.  Low latency too.

 I loved benson & hedges rolled gold...remember that ?

Anyway, now that you're chickenfeet Cramer, shouldn't you be smoking horseshit and bus tickets?

Use Logic Express, with a Zoom MRS8 and Tube Ultragain. Got a condenser mic and midi keyboard. Guitar-wise, I have Washburn and Ibanez electrics, a Yamaha acoustic, a Spanish classical guitar and a crappy bass made by ALM. Sometimes the guitars are powered by a Line 6 amp. They are all in my favourite room in the world.
