It is really frustrating as I can't hear this one at the moment as work seem to block SOUNDCLOUD  >:(

The comments look great and I can't wait to hear it!

I would be more than willing to collab and add any elements I can - although having not heard the track it is difficult to know what I could add or if it needs it!!!

I would also happily guide you through the process of DAW recording - the stereo thang and some simple approaches to EQ, Mixing, compression, reverb etc.

I have had some excellent advice from RED, JAMES and RAM that I would be glad to pass on

Quote
the last time i added a guitar part to somebodys song here i never heard anymore of it! that put me of doing it becos your always at the mercy of the person whos song it is

Please don't be put off TINA - I know the track you are referring to, I will PM you an update  ;)

Thanks, I think I've got it, so I've checked and it was already set to mono, bit confusing.  Anyway you are now the techie guru and I'm impressed  ;D

It may help to think of all tracks within a DAW as being MONO

"STEREO" is just 2 MONO tracks with one panned all the way to the left and the other all the way to the right

Depending on the mix of signal in each "channel" it will place the sound somewhere in the stereo field

Modern DAWs now make things easier (and more confusingb!) by having stereo tracks, which have the left and right channels within one tracks

Hi Flossie,

This has a lot of potential. I agree about the autotune thing. I've heard your voice on other songs - you don't need it. The panning thing is the way to go for sure. Keep it natural.

A big 80's power ballad a la Heart? It'll do for me.

Like this Flossingtons. I'd go completely mordern pop/dance type thing with this.
Get a thudding bass drum behind it. Have some big synth build ups (DB). Have some choppy strings.
You know like something Cheryl Cole or one of those type of artists might do.
It fits the bill with those nice piano chords and the vocal melodies.
I wreckon that if you give this that type of slant, it could be very popular indeed.  ;D

Thanks for the idea, that's not really my thing cos I can't do it, but I wondered what it sounded like sped up, I added a couple of things and my voice sounds like 'larry the Lamb' (you have to be a certain age to understand that reference!) but I quite like it!

Improvement or disaster?

listened to the remix version

that is extremely catchy
definitely another HIT from you, Flossie

but was that ending really that abrupt??? what happened to a good old fade out....

don't know about the bass, didn't really hear it well

but great, and what a lovely voice!!!!!!!!

(btw, off topic, hope you join the pawprint challenge)

It's sounding very "now" remixed. Which is a good thing if you want to make money.  ;D
This is really good Flossie. :)

Prefer the slower version....if you write a dance song, fair enough, but it does`nt sound right when another type of song gets speeded up..

Wow, the sped up vocals are seriously creepy  ;D
But I think the faster version could be a VERY radio friendly song if you tried to go in a sort of dance-y direction.

Wow what a different take! I've just listened to the acoustic original on the other thread. I'm not one for really listening to lyrics, I tend to just hear the melodies. I wouldn't have even known it was the same song if it hadn't been stated. A mini blueprint challenge methinks!. I really like this version as well, it's very radio friendly.

Excellent work Flossie!
