Thanks to all for your lovely comments....I was really going for the Randy Newman "untrustworthy narrator" or maybe "naive narrator" in the lyrics and that swingy sort of Lyle Lovett feel in the music...Or maybe I just rationalized it after I wrote it :>).....

Shiny - Thanks! I've been going for much more clean spare mixes...In fact, I've cut back on the BV's in my current mix and I just use them to emphasize the syncopation.. I've come around to thinking that there really should be no place to hide in the mix and that everything should be there for a reason..It's scary if you tend to hide behind a wash of sound...
