Sounded better this time round the big thing for me is that the vocals dont cut through. Perhaps if you were to tweak the instruments down a little as the vocals are used and maybe make an eq hole for them to punch through. Dont touch the drums too much though they are working well for me.

Its still a busy track but I think if you cut the level of the synths etc during the vocal sections that would just about level it out nicely. The synths sound super at the end when they take the song out so Its deffinately working in places for you. But as I say, I see the vocals as the real issue now, getting them heard through this mix.

You are on the right track

Allan.

This is an odd little thing

"I want to tell the world that status had change
Resolutely Single and mentally DeRaNgEd"

This is a great line, esp in the modern world

Musically this is something the Hot Chip lads would do after a few too many drinks late Friday night. So. Many Sounds. So many filter sweeps (either in the synth programmes or added after). It makes an undulating, almost nauseating listen on my speakers here.

Its a hot pot of crazy that would likely scare more than it would bring in. The concept is great, the execution a little too bonkers and busy as stands!

the new mix is definatly an improvement! it sounds a bit more like a song now, i do feel the comments before were accurate but i dont think that its fair to comment on the way you have put the music together if you cant hear it properly, i heard moments of great potential that really came together and i liked the overall feel. ben

Hey Bin & DB,

I haven't heard the first mix of this, but I don't think the new one is too cluttered... Yes it's busy, and there's lots of stuff going on, but I kind of like that ;)

As a fellow synth lover I like all those different sounds you managed to put in there. It's great to have some diversity in the mix, keeps things interesting,

What sounded a bit odd to me were those fluctuations in vocal and overall volume (not sure how else to put it... example starting at 1:17). The vocals were good I think, but at times hard to understand because of those fluctuations or whatever they are.

I like that unpredictable mix of genres (Who needs genres anyway?!). There's that very dance-y (and really cool) break at 0:31, the electronic sounding drums, and then there's this almost psychedelic part in the middle (2:10 or so)... Everytime I thought I knew were the song was going, it ended up completely fooling me and going in the opposite direction ;D (I really do mean that in a positive way)

all other noises and music: Binladeda and Dutchbeat
So who did what exactly?

Hi Michael,

thanks for your comments. As to the who did what question...

Bin did the guitar tracks and the song was build around those. Alle other sounds and samples were added by me. I made the singing melody on the basis of lyrics from Liam, who used to be an active forum member a while ago, but we still collaborate in making songs via the internet. Vocals are from Mrs. DB and we are currently looking for someone who can help adding vocals / improve the vocals, so that we have a fuller an more clear vocal sound (so, we agree with your comment about the vocals needing to be improved)

thanks for your feedback!

is there perhaps anyone who would be interested in strengthening these vocals...on this track, as it is
???
I am looking for a singer who likes or is prepared to cope with this kind of music, with a somewhat reasonable voice, that would be prepared to sing a track along on this, and also is prepared to let me mix it, sorry for being so bold  8) 8)

come on, songwriters, help me with this

and just to be sure....i can deliver a sheet of typed lyrics

so no, you don't have to sing in fluent Dunglish (Dutch- English) as we do  ;D

you can even sing in you own language....plain English
but nevertheless......i am pretty desperately (ok, you could tell that by now  ;D) looking for a singer
or singers for this particular song

I found myself wanting to sing over this track...

"We're not going to take it, were not gonna take it, were not going to take it anymore"

Or take the existing track and make a round with a new vocal, three part doing the . We're Not Gonna Take it"...over much of this track like a MANTRA, which is what I consider this work, a Mantra

...a bit too electronic for me but a lot of talent working on this one...

You definitely have your own sound DB!!!

I like the "hot pot" of sounds - although I think the sections and structure of the track get a little lost

I am not sure Mrs DB's vocals need strengthening - this is a clear stamp of "your sound" and although opinion is always divided about the processed vocals I would try out a mix with the lead vocal "loud n proud" and "front n centre" - perhaps even backing the fx off a little to allow them to cut through a bit more

Having this focal point as an "anchor" will help guide the listener through the rest of the soundscape

The guitar lines from BIN worked particularly well within all of the electronica - great job!
