I very much enjoyed this track. Like others have mentioned, I like the juxtaposition of a poppy arrangement with more melancholic/wistful lyrics. Something quintessentially British about that - echos of The Smiths in there for example. If you don't listen to the words, it's a completely different song.
The vocal performance is good too!
I would cut at least one repetition from the intro.
