Haha SFX I love that your lyrics are so understated yet so unique and interesting.

For some reason I get the feeling that this was a speedy write, comes across like it popped into your head in a moment and you were fast enough to get it down before lost - which I like - capturing a moment of inspiration and getting that down has a lot more edge (IMO) than weeks of thinking and writing - pretty much all my lyrics are done in the space of an hour or two, those that take longer I give up on.

I really like the tempo and natural flow and (feel free to laugh at me) but can see especially this verse (below) with a real new-style hip-hop execution

Quote
Blue collar and a red-state treasure
Love junkie on a three-day bender
His grip, so hard
Eyes glare, trouble like a mug shot
Charged up, 'cause the man's on a mission

I see you posting lyrics a lot bit no recordings, what do you do with them? I'd really like to hear a recording of this one in particular

These are the lyrics to John Wayne by Lady Gaga, from her just released 'Joanne' album. Why have you posted these? Are you trying to take credit for them?

Good news for you ScottLevi, if you want to hear them put to music get the new Gaga album...

And this reinforces the guideline that indicates one should say something about their lyric (or song in WIP or Finished Works)...not just post it with no explanation why they wrote it or what they are looking for in the way of feedback.

I listened to it for the first time this morning and thought "Hang on, these lyrics are very familiar."

To each their own on the Gaga front - I think Joanne is a great album.

I did it to see if people were going to insult them like they do everything else that isn't 'good enough' to be professional standard even though the majority of them can't write for shit

What is a professional standard? Something that sells lots of records? I can think of a fair few songs that have sold millions that I wouldn't consider good lyrics. Most of them I didn't buy but some I did.

So Lady Gaga wants a real wild man like John Wayne, now that is funny given his history.

For me John Wayne uses a lot of words to say I'm drinking in a car, going fast and with a bit of luck I might meet a real man who'll show me a wild time. If I'm going to like this the music will have to do most of the work.

As this was posted in the lyrics section I haven't listened to the song yet but will do shortly.

Finally you don't need to be able to write songs to a professional standard to decide whether something is good or not. People do it regularly when they buy a single or an album or put songs on their playlists.
