Work introduced me to my muse.

For better or worse it gave me confidence. When I slowed down I found time to learn to play the guitar (still a long way to go) and start writing songs.

It gave me enough money to raise a family and buy a lot of great music.

The rest was already in me, work just brought it out a little as did life.

Woah such great posts guys, makes for a really  interesting read! Great thinking how just escaping the mundane / stressful aspects of work can be an influence in itself, though it makes me feel lucky to have a job which despite means late nights working too often, I do enjoy.

Good shout delboy, didn't cross my mind that it'd a two-way relationship but of couse like all relationshis it is!

And to those talking about networking and confidence; real talk. That 'leap' you take when joining the scary cult of a new job before you get to feel comfortable around people is one scary experience .

@Boydie any time on Agile, my work has a 'no training is enough' policy on this and I've used it plenty, so can hopefully be of some assistance. Interested to hear your motivations for learning too.
