I was watching the news from The States...and I decided to write this...just for fun...

It's a cover version/parody of The Chordettes "Mr Sandman"

I'm off work today, so i wrote the words this morning...did the backing on the brilliant "sessionband country" app and recorded a typically awful vocal this afternoon.

Mr Sanders

Mr Sanders…bring me a dream
Like nothing else that i’ve previously seen
Give me a reason to think of the future
And don’t let the secret service shoot yer

Sanders…I’m so alone
don’t have no candidate to call my own
Please give us some self-esteem
Mr Sanders bring me a dream

Mr Sanders…bring me a dream
I’m sick of taking one for the team
You got to save me from Donald and Hilary
Before those crazy motherf*ck*rs kill me

Sanders…what do you say?
Transferring Wall Street to Guantanamo Bay
It’s time we changed our own Regime
Mr Sanders bring me a dream

Brilliant stuff Paul. I read the lyrics earlier and wondered how you would fit the music. You've done a great job. Love these quirky little pop songs. I love the chord progression. Reminded me of dream a little dream in some ways. Another classic from your stable. It's a great song. See the girls are in good voice  :) Scary stuff going on in the States

Cheers

I like it. The song is very tongue and cheeck and humorous in that it skips out on metaphors. Normally one only hears that in rap songs but this works well in the style. Though in America, the two biggest candidates are a socialist and a fascist so  we need some tongue and cheeck songs. i may have tomove to canada.
Cheers

Just run into this on Soundcloud. Cheered me right up on an especially dull day behind the desk.  ;D

The lyrics are genius and its brilliantly done.

Tee hee!!! You should send this is to the campaign  ;D

Not a bad thing to knock off in a day, the usual sharp edge in the lyric I love in your stuff. And the backing is pretty tidy and nicely works in the female vocal.

Thanks mate for sharing something off the cuff and making me smile

Happy Days!  :)

Tom.

Excellent job. Raised a smile :-)

Can't believe you just rustled this up so quickly. Fine work. Lyrics are brilliant. Vocals felt just a tad muddy to me, but other than that no criticisms or observations at all.

Cheers

yeah, Kevin...i'm sure you will have heard it before...The Chordettes "Mr Sandman"

Chet Atkins used to play a great solo guitar version of it too.
