Hi Y'all
I needed to learn some new techniques so I knocked up a groovy little number
Rather than simply discard it I wondered if anyone fancied collaborating on it?
I am waaaaay too busy with other projects at the moment so I thought I would throw it out there
I would be looking for someone to write the lyrics and perhaps sing a melody to it (or one person write lyrics and another sing it etc.)
If I was sent the VOCAL recording stem I would be happy to mix the final project and then build some more interest in the arrangement around the vocal (eg sound fx, risers, drum fills, crashes etc.)
Here is the track (not mixed and with a rough arrangement)
https://soundcloud.com/boydiemusic/loopy-groove/s-4VWTD
This is how I am hearing it
It is a rough "12 bar" pattern so I have only included 2 "verses"
Intro - 00:02
Verse 1 - 00:15
Break - 01:23
Verse 2 - 01:32
Outro - 02:40
If anyone is interested post here or drop me a PM

Oooooooooooh I may have something but the writing to melody thing is very new to me so come back to me later

Just give it a go JESS and let's see what happens...

I'm counting 16 bars*. Requires quite a lot of text...
So far I've only got 8 'blocks' of 24 needed (if I'm repeating the last eight of each verse).
Bernd
* (later) it's 48 bars per verse, 16 parts of 3 bars (lines of text) each.

Well, here's my lyrics - the parts can easily be rearranged since most of them are rather 'generic', there are also quite a few repetitions:
addicted
A1 (4)
she likes to play
to have her fun
she loves to fool around
she is a beauty
she is cool
she is the queen uncrowned
she gets me hot
she gets me high
then she brings me down
she likes to play
to have her fun
she loves to fool around
A2 (4)
she loves to lounge
to loll around
she gives me bedroom eyes
she gets me hooked
she gets me mad
with little Baby cries
next she pulls back
I feel snubbed
she sure hurts my pride
she loves to lounge
to loll around
she gives me bedroom eyes
B (2)
she got me bagged
she got me lost
she's made me addicted
I'm amazed
I'm love-crazed
here I stand convicted
A (2)
she likes to play
to have her fun
she loves to fool around
she gets me hot
she gets me high
then she brings me down
C (2)
I'm addicted
I can't get loose
I'm addicted
there's no excuse
A (2)
she loves to lounge
to loll around
she gives me bedroom eyes
next she pulls back
I feel snubbed
she sure hurts my pride
A (4)
showing her smile
is all it takes
to cast her spell on me
a little hint
her tender touch
make me shout with glee
she makes me dream
she sparks my hope
she makes a fool of me
showing her smile
is all it takes
to cast her spell on me
A (4)
I tried it all
I did my best
to leave this girl behind
I closed my eyes
I shut my ears
to get her off my mind
I saw a shrink
he just said
that I need to unwind
I tried it all
I did my best
to leave this girl behind
B (2)
she got me bagged
she got me lost
she's made me addicted
I'm amazed
I'm love-crazed
here I stand convicted
A (2)
showing her smile
is all it takes
to cast her spell on me
she makes me dream
she sparks my hope
she makes a fool of me
C (2)
I'm addicted
I can't get loose
I'm addicted
there's no excuse
A (2)
I tried it all
I did my best
to leave this girl behind
I saw a shrink
he just said
that I need to unwind

I'll probably record my taking of your track over the next weekend. But it'll be only some kind of 'rough demo' since I'm not 'real' singer.
Whatever comes thereafter: may I use my recording on top of your track on my web site, respectively post it on SoundClick?

taking silence as consent, here is my approach on SoundClick:

Sorry BERND
I thought I had replied ??? But the post definitely isn't there - DOH!
You are welcome to use your version of the track - that version is now as much yours as it is mine ;D
I finally got SoundClick working and you given the track a great feel - it sounds almost "Avant Garde"
Great stuff

sounds a bit like Neneh Cherry..Manchild at the beginning ?
