Love is a Mythical Beast
The love That a mother should give to a child
She gave to the bottle instead
And your Father could have been any stranger
That rolled in and out of her bed
You looked to the west for the sun everyday
But for you it just stayed in the east
Rejection was real
Something you could feel
But love was a mythical beast
You were born into solitary confinement
And tried hard to break out of that jail
Christened "SS ISOLATION"
With the warm winds neglecting your sail
A cold harlot met your tears with laughter
So the pain and the suffering increased
Humiliation was real
Something you could feel
But love was a mythical beast
Those that didn't know you said "creepy"
Those that didn't know you said "strange"
And the kids hurled abuse and stones at your back
Everytime you came within range
You gave a home to a pitiful stray
It would be a companion at least
Loneliness was real
Something you could feel
But love was a mythical beast
You emptied a bottle of pills
The day that you lost that old hound
And the maggots and flies kept you company
For eight weeks until you were found
Nobody called when you were alive
Likewise when you were deceased
And by the side of your bed
Was a brief note that said
"Love is a mythical beast"

absolutely love this! you are an amazing storyteller, your writing reminds me a little of hoziers darker stuff,
the flow in this is great, too many good lines to mention, but this was one of my favourites-
" You looked to the west for the sun everyday
But for you it just stayed in the east"
can't wait to hear this now :)

Wow, this was just amazing. I instantly got a melody in my head. I love these lyrics. I hope this song goes somewhere because its just wow. The way you wrote it, like no specific verse or chorus just a very well written, smooth flow type of portions. I loved it and im definitely wanting more from you. Thank you for your artistry.

Well, that was depressing! If you weren't so damn good at painting a picture, we wouldn't feel for this poor sod the way we do. So I guess we can't have it both ways - your great imagery and our lack of compassion can't co-exist.
Now please something to cheer us up!
Good job!
Paul

Ok!
Thanks, Kevin J, Rosilindsings, and the tireless Paulski. You really are too kind, your comments are like a pat on the back, and i can't begin to tell you how much they are appreciated. Paulski, i will try and lighten up a little, maybe by posting just one sad song a week, instead of two.
Thanks all
