Just this morning, NPR in the States ran this (http://www.npr.org/2014/09/19/349621429/the-song-that-never-ends-why-earth-wind-fires-september-sustains?) little story about the writing of this (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Gs069dndIYk) classic song.
It's well-worth listening to and a whole lot of fun. Some insight into the writing process and why a song works as well as it does.
