Title: Guys and Girls
Post by: Melusine2 on October 12, 2021, 08:15:53 PM
Hello :)

the latest compo of mine, with the help of pompeyjazz on guitar solo and mixing ;)

this is about my old friends at college that do not have news from them since a long time.

Sorry for my english grammar  ;D

"Do we still remember
How we were together
Do we feel the same
Now That everything has changed

And Time has gone
And there s No more lullabies
Just memories that go by
When Melancholia
s coming back

We were Guys and girls Having fun,
Sharing the time of our life
All with pride and laughs
Full of Hope & Full of love
We were Guys and girls Having fun,
Sharing the time of our life

Now Living our own life
Far from each others
Where is our youth
Our Friendship so strong

Hope everything goes well
Hope that happiness remains
As we don’t talk anymore
Guess life is such a game

We were Guys and girls Having fun,
Sharing the time of our life
All with pride and laughs
Full of Hope & Full of love
We were Guys and girls Having fun,
Sharing the time of our life"

Hola @Melusine2 (http://www.songwriterforum.co.uk/index.php?action=profile;u=22580)

It's a very nostalgic song despite the rhythm! A very pleasant listening, you and @pompeyjazz (http://www.songwriterforum.co.uk/index.php?action=profile;u=20269) have done a very cool song!!!
Big kiss

Mora

Hey Melusine2 - I really got a touch of U2 from this. Production is big and excellent.

I thought the intro was maybe a bit too long and I wondered if there were some extra/other backing vocal harmony notes that you could sometimes introduce into the chorus for some variation.

Great song concept. Maybe they are also thinking of those times and of you too. Even with more ways to keep in touch than ever, "the game" just somehow changes and moves along. I agree with Mora about the nostalgia - clever use of the 80s/90s feel to take us there (though you are probably too young...!).

this is very sweet
sounds mid or late 80's to me
A bit like "the Cure" in places

What a beautiful voice you have

Makes me feel nostalgic.

Wonderfully written song @Melusine2 (http://www.songwriterforum.co.uk/index.php?action=profile;u=22580) . Fabulous chord changes in the chorus & the interesting bass gives it a discordant ?! quality. (I may not speak French but I talk fluent boll*cks  ;D ). The "having fun" lick/chord change is such a good one, you could embellish it even more to bring it out more but its great as it is. Superbly played & produced & overall a really great song.  :)

Hi Ce Mz,

A little bit on the light side for my normal tastes, but enjoyable nevertheless.
I like that it is off the well beaten musical path.
Lovely vocals, and production.

It has an interesting rhythm of the drums that doesn't have accent on the first beat, but on the another one.
I think I need a little bit of dynamic in the middle of the song, but it's just my opinion.
Beautiful bass, vocals and various harmonies.
Overall, I like the song with this saddy vibe.

@digger72 (http://www.songwriterforum.co.uk/index.php?action=profile;u=9823) i do heavier tracks with pompeyjazz but when i do compose it is more poppy
