After a mellower period, it seems I'm finding my way back to my roots 8) 8)
Giving up is easy
but hanging on is hard
It takes a lot of courage
to go inch by foot by yard
You said, it won't be easy
you said, it will be tough
It's true that love may change you
but I doubt that it's...
Enough
to keep you by my side
Enough
Enough
to make you stay
Life is a highway and
love is a winding road
I don't fear commitments but
I'll live by no man's code
I said, it won't be easy
I said, it will be tough
It's true that love may change me
but I doubt that it's...
Enough
to keep me by your side
Enough
Enough
to make me stay
How can I know what’s really true?
If my future lies with you?
Whatever path I choose to take
at least one heart is gonna break
Every breath I'll ever take
Every moment I'm awake
Every endless sleepless night
I will wonder: who was right?
Enough
to keep me by your side
Enough
Enough
to make me stay

Yes you are. 8)
I think, though, that your mellow period brought a certain subtle character to this song. I hear it in your vocals.
Don't worry, though....this tune still rocks! Love the guitar work.
-
The production is excellent which you are always consistent with unlike myself. Love the guitars especially the lead guitar. Loved it.

@Jambrains (http://www.songwriterforum.co.uk/index.php?action=profile;u=19875) - yeah baby...back to your groove lovely stuff, nothing can i offer, it’s as good as it can be...

Yeah ! @Jambrains (http://www.songwriterforum.co.uk/index.php?action=profile;u=19875) rocks ! This is superb as ever, Love the drum and guitar sounds you have here. Fabulous guitar solo, over far too quickly. Top, top quality as ever :)
-
I like very much this style, it is fresh and has a cool vibration that makes me in a good mood. The chorus sounds great as well as all the rest.
-
A very nicely produced melodic rock song with a great guitar sound. It sounded to me a little bit XTC ish which is no bad thing. The only thing I m not sure about is the guitar lead just before the last chorus which seems a bit random.

Hi, proper rock song, made me think of the Foo's in places, maybe the guitar arpeggios? Excellent production, loved the guitar sounds especially. Rock on......
Cheers

@cowparsleyman (http://www.songwriterforum.co.uk/index.php?action=profile;u=21308), you are to kind Sir! :)
@pompeyjazz (http://www.songwriterforum.co.uk/index.php?action=profile;u=20269), thanks, sorry about the solo but I learned that there is not much love for them these days so I tend keep them short
@moraamarolaloba (http://www.songwriterforum.co.uk/index.php?action=profile;u=21233), thanks, glad to hear it put you in a good mood!! :)
@Grubstar (http://www.songwriterforum.co.uk/index.php?action=profile;u=22532), it's actually the rest of the song that is random, not the solo. The solo is the focal point, the rest is just there to fill the space before and after the solo. Nah, just kidding, I see what you mean :)
@Jamie (http://www.songwriterforum.co.uk/index.php?action=profile;u=19125): thanks, I will rock on, I'm in a flow atm :)

Hi JB,
Good light rock tune. As others have said - very melodic and well polished track.
Felt a little like a rocker who had just stepped out of the shower - and was lacking a little dirt for me. But sounded great.
Production was top quality as always.

@Jambrains (http://www.songwriterforum.co.uk/index.php?action=profile;u=19875) - I’ll put 80’s solos in if you will...
-
Hey JB,
Yeah, right on the button ;D. This is my favourite style of yours. Not that everything else isn't good. I just think you 'rock' really well ;D. Had a very American flavour to it for me, reminded me of some 70's West Coast bands. The perfect production added to that US feel.
Can't fault it my friend. A great listen...
Take care...Stay Safe ;D

You jambrains,
welcome back to the dark side, great guitars and mix,
really like your rockier stuff,
this is my kinda stuff, love that alternating intro to the verses gives it an college rock vibe, blink 182 etc,
Yeh its all good here,
good energy vocals too.

Hey @Jambrains (http://www.songwriterforum.co.uk/index.php?action=profile;u=19875), great song! Loved the guitar sound and feel. Not sure I like the verse as much but the chorus was great, really strong, could maybe have built it more?
Good stuff!

Hi,
Love the guitar sounds you've got on this - I search in vain for it :-)
The harmonies are lovely and I think the whole thing sounds very west coast California. Your vocal has that lovely raw edge which gives authority and energy. A very well written song, beautifully produced and then that solo .....wow.
Loved it to bits - can we have some more please.

Really different and interesting the way you lead into the chorus - very effective for me.
The breakdown/M8 was effective - but for me should be half as long. And one really small thing - in the intro you might think about automating the left side guitar to start in the middle and then move out left when the verse kicks in, might make it sound smoother I think.
I do like a bit of rock from you - I've probably said this before but I get a bit of Tom Petty (perhaps a heavier version here). Always consistently high quality.
