Title: Invisible Hero
Post by: Andreas on April 02, 2020, 10:19:39 PM
Some crazy times we`re in now, eh? This isolation doesn`t go too well with my anxiety and OCD, and for everyone dealing with mental health these days is hard, but there is some light at the end of the road. Anyways, I still decided to challenge myself some, and stop hiding behind a stage name, so any music I publish these days is under my given name, cuz it is music i`m proud to write and it is my own words and my own experiences. So, I started a songwriting challenge to keep myself occupied, so for the next 30 days I will publish one song each day, a demo. It could be old songs I never recorded or published, old texts I have re-written or brand new songs. This is the 3rd day, and this song is a brand new, called "Invisible Hero". Hope you like it, and stay safe!

Lyrics:

She`s been working all night, comes home in the morning
She needs someone who can keep her with company

I know that she`s been feeling tired
She`s holding back her tears
I know that her brain has been so wired
She just wants this to end

She`s my invisible hero
Even though she don`t feel that way
She`s been looking out of her window
Hoping someday she could fly away
To a better place

She`s been wondering if she will ever get out
She hopes someday, someone will earn her love

I know that she`s been feeling tired
She`s holding back her tears
I know that her brain has been so wired
She just wants this to end

She`s my invisible hero
Even though she don`t feel that way
She`s been looking out of her window
Hoping someday she could fly away
To a better place

First off well done for having the balls to not hide behind an alias or band name. Its the right decision.I wish I could (but then my real name is Cornelius Twat so its probably for the best). :)
Liked this a lot Andreas, particularly the verse & the bridge. They could work in a lot of different genres but this recording shows off your good voice. Nice one.

PS. Also good to see Scandinavia taking over the forum. ;D

It's obvious this comes from a personal place and it's really honest and those the best songs. The acoustic guitar is just right for the vibe, I like the melody of the chorus and the pre-chorus. Stay strong, this quarantine is kicking all our asses lol :D

@5 guys named Lars (http://www.songwriterforum.co.uk/index.php?action=profile;u=22535) - Thank you so much! :) Can`t imagine there are many artists named Cornelius Twat, so it would definitely have been an original name as an artist :) The forum is filling up with scandinaves now :p

@RealKevM (http://www.songwriterforum.co.uk/index.php?action=profile;u=21324) - Thank you mate, appreciate it :)

@adamwolf (http://www.songwriterforum.co.uk/index.php?action=profile;u=22501) - Thank you so much! :) Personal songs are often the best ones, in my opinion, and usually personal things are what inspires me to write :)

Very beautiful and deep. Always that thrilling vocal interpretation, I love it. You're really good at doing it so fast...

Thank you so much, glad you liked it :) With a song per day for 30 days, I don`t really get the time to scrap any ideas and come up with new ones, so i just have to work through the ideas I get, so there will definitely be a few good songs and some bad, but I try my best to let the music and words come from my heart so I can get the presentation as good as I want it to be, but still keep it simple enough so that I can manage to record it only 5 times at tops, so it don`t take too much of my time :)

For some reasons I remember Michael Jackson when I saw the title. The song needs some harmonies, or progress. Maybe I'm wrong. Pretty sad.
