Alrighty, here's my Bond theme... Played it straight.
I'm getting diminishing returns the more I tweak it now so time to publish and be damned. But any no-gloves feedback on the mix etc is welcome, and I'll adjust before giving to Boydie for the mastering.
Hope you're all doing groovy.
Pauly
V1
The battle
Begins tonight
The future:
We’ve cut all ties.
The seducer
Duty’s tempting fate again
With the comfort of cold steel
V2
Am I winning
The frozen heart of my
Assassin
Is it a part of what you’re
Planning
To do when the night is through
Still the dawn’s so far away
CH
Are those kisses or just a double cross?
We’ll find out eventually
We turned the tables against our demons
And that’s not something they forget so easily
To all things a season
Ours is not to reason why
But you can tell it to my demons
This is no time to die
V3
There’s work that must be done
Debts that must be settled
If we don’t want to get stung
We must grasp the nettle
Love’s always been a loaded gun
The hammer cocked, the chamber spun
Now one of us must pull the trigger
CH2
But
In the kiss of each other’s cross hairs
We met our match
We both beat our demons so far
That’s how we know, we know that they’ll be back
To all things a season
Ours is not to reason why
But you can tell it to my demons
This is no time to die

Loved this one @PaulyX (http://www.songwriterforum.co.uk/index.php?action=profile;u=21034) some great Bond influences from the opening riff to the acoustic strums and menacing strings and the end of chorus vocal hook is brilliant. Fabulous song man :)

Very nicely done, really dig the arrangement and different textured sounds. well done!!

Very cool. I think I already commented on the lyrics - love those ever original rhymes and the crosshair/kisses theme is perfect for Bond.
Great pace and build - the acoustic and the flutey sounds work well early on. Nice solo riff too.
The rocky guitars come in with a nice hit at 2'23" - I might bring them up a little from there on to thicken up the sound. If you were able to hire the Monks' choir from November Rain, then that would also be a perfect place for them...
Really works as film track, I was imagining all sorts of images on the screen.

Loads of brilliant lines in here...not surprising, coming from you, but that shouldn't diminish the fact that it's exceptionally cleverly written.
Builds really nicely and retains a slightly off-the-wall feel to it.
I was slightly surprised by the ending...I thought it was really quite short...but of course, it isn't...so I was obviously enjoying the journey so much that I didn't want it to end.
A fab addition to the album!

Hi
This is a very nicely arranged and produced Bond inspired song. Loved the the main guitar riff and the the strummed acoustic chords, not sure about the flute parts though , I personally think a James Bond/John Barry style guitar would be more effective. I also liked the lyrics and the vocals, great track!

Hi, just enough of a nod to Bond without being cheesy, nicely judged! Very good song in it's own right, well produced and played.
Nice one! 8)

Another bond thingy that's better than the one by watsername..lots clever lines and the production is very bondy without copying previous bond stuff...sort of a parallel song universe,

Wow, Pauly.........I must admit, I had not read your introduction to this song.....I usually don't, until it has begun.
I am immediately struck with the sound quality, here (I just can't record on this level, myself) and mood flashes of a "Bond" like atmosphere became vey evident. I read your introduction and became impressed with how you were able to create the "Bond" vibe so well.
A very good one!!

Great opening riff. Felt it was a kind of sister song to your Indian Rope Trick number in terms of sound and technique. Which is a good thing by the way;)
Nicely imagined, a slightly left of centre take on a Bond theme, but really interesting embellishments throughout and a very intelligent interpretation of the brief. Very cool.

Hi Pauly,
The low end at the beginning is great. Just love the thud and bassy sound - creates a great mood and backdrop for the song to start building.
Opens up well in the chorus. The second half is great.
Dirty guitar riff works very well.
Definitely fits the Bond brief. The ring out note at the end is very Bond - panning out to the movie starting proper.
