Hi,
Here's demo from the vaults from FAWM 2016, written to IGG's cool lyrics.
Musically I took it back many decades and the piano is the ezykeys!
Anyway have fun and look forward to your feedback and comments. Of course it always helps if I post the track!!

THE LONG WAY ROUND TO HEAVEN
Thought by now I'd be so righteous
But that stuff don't seem to stick
Every time I close my prayer book
Feel I'm ready for a drink
I'll take the long.... way ....round... to heaven
Make some stops along the way
I ....ain't..... finished .......what I started
Raise some hell before I pray
Hear that fiddle in the distance
Think that I might stop to dance
Life is short enough already
I would rather take the chance
I'll take the long.... way ....round... to heaven
Make some stops along the way
I ....ain't..... finished .......what I started
Raise some hell before I pray
Lots of scores that I ain't settled
Lots of lessons left to learn
Still some women I ain't kissed yet
Still some bridges left to burn
So go ahead, I'll catch up later
Up to heaven's pearly gate
If you run into St. Peter
Let him know that I'll be late
I'll take the long.... way ....round... to heaven
Make some stops along the way
I ....ain't..... finished .......what I started
Raise some hell before I pray

Just a gentle bump :-)

Nice old school ragtime feel going on here Neil and some sweet little guitar licks. It feels instantly familiar, I guess that's the chord structure, but very accessible because of that. Nice chirpy track for a sunny morning here.

Hi Neil,
Nice groove.
Piano fills are great.
Guitar always tasteful and fits right on in there.
Vocal sounds like it comes natural and easy - like you're in your zone.

Fun Stuff Neil..............you've always been really good at that. I still listen to our collab," Call Me Superstitious" and get a great smile. This is every bit, tongue & cheek, good.
Nice seeing ya, buddy.......

I hadn't heard of EZkeys Neil, it looks pretty good for knocking up song progressions. I was thinking that it was a bit too robotic and uniform until you used it for that little flourish in the middle, very cool. Anyway your track cheered me with its easy energy and immediacy. Almost an anti-coronovirus anthem and I'm totally sold on the sentiment in the well thought out lyrics! ;)

Hi Neil, loved the BB King/Larry Carlton guitar parts, beautiful tone. The piano sounded a bit mechanical to me, but when it breaks around 1.30 it sounded great. Nice lyrical idea, again....
Nice one!
Cheers
