This was just something I wrote in ten minutes in my tea break at work
Happy as Larry
I’ve seen him sat on the stairs
full of despair , when he’s lost all his money
at the bookies
Chorus
There’s a guy down my street
that’s as happy as Larry
Or everybody thinks that he is
He’ll give you nod , a wink and smile
but I’ve seen him cry in his beer
Chorus
There’s a guy down my street
that’s as happy as Larry
Or everybody thinks that he is
He thinks no one knows
that he’s pulling the wool
and he’s just cruising along
I wish he’d own up
to himself and to all
that his bed isn’t always so rosey
Chorus
There’s a guy down my street
that’s as happy as Larry
Or everybody thinks that he is
I’ve seen him sat on the stairs
full of despair , when he’s lost all his money
at the bookies

I like this lyric very much. Would work well with a "jaunty" song. It would be nice to have a twist at the end, not sure what but maybe Larry needs killing off? Have you got any music for it?
