Title: How to create beats
Post by: House463 on December 29, 2019, 11:19:11 PM
Hello

I'm pretty new to making music and was hoping for some help.

I'm learning piano but don't play any other instrument. Is there an app or a program I can use to create beats and rhythms with? Like a sound board type thing with pre programmed sounds that I can loop and play with?

Cheers

The short answer is yes - there are a gazillion easy ways to achieve what you want

Before we start throwing loads of software, apps, and hardware solutions at you it would be useful to know what type of equipment you already have - eg iPhone, iPad, android phone/tablet, Mac, PC etc. and any budget you have to buy equipment / software

Is there any particular music style you are looking to create, which will also help steer us to recommending the best solution for you

Hey @Boydie (http://www.songwriterforum.co.uk/index.php?action=profile;u=18510) ive got an andriod phone but that's about it and limited budget (very helpful I know) it's more for basic trail and error or fun creation.

Looking at more acoustic, chill, indie music.

Great, that is really helpful

I would suggest starting by trying some of the apps in this round up

Have a look through and try out any you fancy

There is a good chance you will find YouTube tutorials on each of them so you should be up and running in no time   ;D
