Title: September Song of the Month
Post by: PaulyX on October 01, 2019, 06:31:44 PM
September is over too soon… and was a particularly good month on the forum, wouldn’t you agree?
It’s my honour to present the shortlist of candidates for Song of the Month this time.
In keeping with the mood of the month in the wider world, I decided to ignore unwritten conventions and rode roughshod over any rules about minimum post counts etc.  I just selected five tracks that all struck me as absolute gems.  (If you got nominated and haven’t posted many reviews yet, take that as a gentle nudge to keep reviewing).
Let’s keep it simple: please just PM me your fave track by UK lunchtime on Monday 14th.
As usual, you get disqualified as a candidate if you don't vote.
G’luck to all!

Candidate A: The slow-burn masterpiece with the chord changes to-die-for that is…
“I Am Lost”
@Jamie (http://www.songwriterforum.co.uk/index.php?action=profile;u=19125)
https://soundcloud.com/jamie1802/i-am-lost

Candidate B: If your holiday to Jamaica went down with Thomas Cook, it’s OK: pull up a deckchair and enjoy this dubby tropical beauty instead…
“It’s Really Me”
@Viscount Cramer & His Orchestra (starring @CaliaMoko (http://www.songwriterforum.co.uk/index.php?action=profile;u=19928) & @PaulAds (http://www.songwriterforum.co.uk/index.php?action=profile;u=20253) )

Candidate C: Surfing in from the ethereal plane on a wave of skittering beats and gossamer melodies, it can only be…
“Valhalla”
@Tommy Blixt (http://www.songwriterforum.co.uk/index.php?action=profile;u=20176)
https://soundcloud.com/knownastymm/valhalla

Candidate D: With its spiralling ear-worm of a riff and clever lyrics about doing bad bad things through letterboxes, it’s…
“Animals”
@adamfarr (http://www.songwriterforum.co.uk/index.php?action=profile;u=20124) collaboration with @PaulAds (http://www.songwriterforum.co.uk/index.php?action=profile;u=20253) featuring @pompeyjazz (http://www.songwriterforum.co.uk/index.php?action=profile;u=20269)

Candidate E: The luscious indie swoon that is …
”Just the Way That You Are”
@Sebandme (http://www.songwriterforum.co.uk/index.php?action=profile;u=22491)

Hey Pauly thanks for the boost...a newly-minted 50 euro note is winging its way to Brighton as promised! Hope it doesn't get turned away (or pocketed) at immigration.

5 more days to get your votes in people...
We’re currently in a dead heat situation at just over half time, so your vote could make all the difference.
