Title: Beauty of the instrument
Post by: cowparsleyman on August 26, 2019, 08:47:02 PM
I was just looking at my classical guitar over in the corner there, and thought how beautiful it is, it has some wonderfully beautiful features, has anyone else have a favourite part of an instrument, I’ll try and post some images of my favourites....

Well I do really like the back of the guitar
I'm not exclusively a back door man
I also was moved to buy a guitar, a Django Reinhardt Gitane thing (a DG 455)
has a small oval hole.

the telecaster headstock is quite pleasing.
strato headstock is ugly I tend to dislike sunburst.

@Rightly (http://www.songwriterforum.co.uk/index.php?action=profile;u=20219) - Man oh man - the Telecaster headstock for me was the mark of the devil for so many years, it was Strat all the way, I imagined myself flying through the stratosphere on one. Then I got a Squier '50's Classic vibe tele and everything changed...one of my favourites to play....keep looking at that headstock though...(Someone tell me I'm not the only person that hated the tele headstock with a passion)

I agree about the back of acoustics, does have a hidden quality about it...to me other areas are the binding of a Yamaha SG 1000 around the 'horns',  the cut out where the nut goes of my Burguet Classical; it's so precise that the nut can move freely but only just, the Gibson headstock (a timeless classic ), the ends of my drum sticks, as a guitarist I can figure out why they are so important, but they look nice, oh yes the red knurled knobs on my Yamaha kit, the ones that detune them 'on the fly' I always wondered what they did, and why Roland didn't have them...If I think of any more...

Yip, I'm one strange musician.
