Hi all,

Wrote and recorded this today - very heavy Alice In Chain influence. Feedback most welcome

FADING AWAY
(Words by Jonathan Linton, Music by Jonathan Linton)

They put man on the moon
Mankind success
Livin’ in a lead balloon
How we digress

Every day a new extinction
Such accomplishment
Having the great distinction
To witness man’s descent

Hope for mankind
Is fading away
Survival time
Is fading away
Fading away
Fading away

Black gold sucked from the ground
Mankind progress
Replaced by a plastic mound
Livin’ to excess

Air and sea power in our hands
Still we subsidize
Extinct energy plans
God bless enterprise

Hope for mankind
Is fading away
Survival time
Is fading away
Fading away
Fading away

SOLO

Yeah
Fading away
Fading away

Hey Jonathan,

I thought this was just a big-a** banger (in the best way possible!). The intro with Armstrong is so clever! Here's the cool thing about this song. Before listening to the song, I read the lyrics - and I really thought that the song could be in any genre -- rock, pop, gospel, even reggae. It's a song that a country singer could tune on with or Taylor Swift can sing her in her concerts. Now, listening to the song really put the lyrics into great motion. To me, I don't have much to say other than this song is great as it is. Keep the great work up!

@jonlint (http://www.songwriterforum.co.uk/index.php?action=profile;u=19407) - Very nice indeed, love the kemper chugging, and SD sounding good as ever. can't add anything, sorry, you've got it nailed, the only thing that might add interest would a be a complete stop, quick triplety drum fill them blast into the gtr solo, always gives more oomph to it, rather than just stomping onwards...

Hope it helps
