Black dog
I’m writing about depression on my podcast and came up with these lyrics
Black dog
There’s a blue day approaching from the east
don’t think that I can face my feast
but that’s how black dog gets you
Oh black dog , oh black dog
the logs keep rolling down my way
and the fire that I had, has lost it’s spark
even a walk to the park
takes me to a place in the dark
people say to me , you gotta be strong
it’s all in your mind and you’ll be fine
it’s a question of manning up
and seeing your glass is half full
I’m not being horrible, just cruel too be kind
Oh yeah yeah , Oh yeah yeah ,Oh yeah yeah yeah
Oh black dog , oh black dog
the logs keep rolling down my way
and the fire that I had, has lost it’s spark
even a walk to the park
takes me to a place in the dark
it’s all in your mind and you’ll be fine
it’s a question of manning up
and seeing your glass is half full
Boom , ba boom- ba boom boom boom
Boom , ba boom- ba boom boom boom
Oh black dog you don’t exist
trying saying that when I cut my wrist
all I want is someone who’ll listen
I don’t need the knife going any deeper
I’ve wept enough as it is
Oh black dog , oh black dog
the logs keep rolling down my way
and the fire that I had, has lost it’s spark
even a walk to the park
takes me to a place in the dark
all I want is a chance of some sunshine

For someone who has been through depression, anxiety, and alcohol/drug abuse, this lyric was very relatable for me. It described much of what I went through, especially that "a walk to the park, takes me to a place in the dark". These lyrics are written very graphically, so it's easy to imagine being in that place/state of mind! Anyways, this is good! Well done :)
