JASON AND THE AGA 2019
i got the message, it wasnt much,
a blistered text and a jpeg of a casserole
i suggested paracetamol
was out of order but what the hell
i got the message, well, the one between the lines
cos it read smiley, positive and brief ,
but underneath there was,
jason in the punctuation and..
who’s that ?
who’s that ?
no clues in the flames, where all our movies our born
tonight i stare at the fire, poke it around but
next to useless
cos im not getting warm
i understand bout as much as i can
i understand bout as much as i can
what is spoken and what is heard
aint necessarily the same bird thats circling
i am torn
feets to the fire but i aint getting warm
i understand bout as much as i can
i understand bout as much as i can
no clues in the flames
that i can form
feets to the fire
but im not getting warm
whose that ?
whose that ?
she said its jason from the aga store

Clever title and clever lyrics...perfect song for Lena Horne, very cool vocals and a gold medal to the pianist..
really atmospheric song guys..it totally works :)

Hi, whilst I do play the piano I have to state it’s Ezykeys which I arranged.
:-)

What a huge smile this brought to my face. I love this style of songwriting and it´s got great lyrics. It´s all so clever - chords, instrumentation, arrangement, mix, vocals...I´m voting it as one of the SOTM even before it´s nominated. It must be, no?

well, beautifully arranged Neil mate..

This is just soooo laid back. It just drips atmosphere. I can see the Gitanes smoke drifting over the stage. Excellent musical backdrop and superb lyrics and that vocal delivery is top, top quality. Awesome track guys :)
-
So good. So much character in the vocal, and the “whisper” track gives superb texture. 21st century miscommunication tech meets 19th century culinary tech meets Greek mythological check... Jason in the punctuation! The same bird section is a beautiful progression.
Those keys just add to the Tom Waits feel. Brilliant stuff, like a hidden club in a New York backstreet that I’m not cool enough to find (except in movies).

Really nice. Well done.
I'm not sure if I undertood what it was about, maybe with more listens.
I enjoyed it though all the way through, amazing piano.

Yo Neil and nooms.
Lovely lazy/jazzy intro, nooms vocals melding seamlessly with the slick backdrop.
The music oozes quality, the lyrics are a poetic mystery and I love the way they could mean what I want them to mean.
Muchly enjoyed, you pair of high bar setters you! :)

Yeah this had a great late night lounge-bar vibe... super clever, slightly cryptic but very witty lyrics and a voice really full of character. You sing a bit like Iggy Pop talks these days. Great arrangement of the keys too Neil. Bravos all round for this one.

Oh Yeah Man.... ;D ;D
I've just melted and slipped through the cracks in the floorboards.....what a beeeuuteeeful song guys ;D
Superb playing Neil, and your Vocals are 'to die for' as usual Nooms...
Love ya both xx ;D ;D . Keep 'em comin

Hi Guys,
How chilled is that??
Elegantly wasted sounding vocals.
Music is just in the groove - sounds wicked.
Quality - as I'd expect.
Great job.

Well I love that Soundcloud tag for a start: #aga cookers. Got to be a big hit in the Search charts that, ha ha! ...So actually I did search for it in the SC search box - and you came up fifth! After a guy doing stuff about real Aga Cookers. Brilliant! ;D
I will never trust Aga salesmen after this song! But I love its intelligence and wit. Understated humour and a very cool, languid execution. Lovely slice of Aga baked pie, and it's a recipe which I wouldn't know what to suggest to improve on. Just a great listen, cheers!

A song from a bygone age apart from the 'jpeg of a casserole' lyric and one or two other lyrics that I kind of understand but may have interpreted completely the wrong way. line's like that are real head turners of course!
I've always had a soft spot for this kind of music and I'm never disappointed when I tune into radio Neilc and nooms. Keep them coming chaps. It is always a treat!

Now I'm worried if that guy ever got his feet warmed up ;D
As someone from the great white north I can relate - no aga stores hjere though..
Lovely laid-backism in this one from all parties.
Loved the lyrics - they don't have to mean anything, they just have to seem like they mean something IMHO.
Lovely piano work and vocals totally suit the vibe ;D
Top drawer - in with the warm socks ;D

Hi Guys,
What a great title! The song is full of wit, subtlety and strangeness. Loved the laid back delivery and crazy, off the wall lyrics. A fabulous combination of talents resulting in a belter of a track. No negatives just a joyful listening experience.
