This is a compostion by cowparsleydaughter (17yrs)
I asked her what it's called hence the title... :D
Excuse the quality of the recording...
Let me know what you think, and I'll pass it on to her.

Flip! Tell CowParsleyDaughter that's brilliant! Totally fun and utterly unpredictable all the way through. I'm floored that someone could compose a piece that barely repeats all the way, just keeps evolving. Talented family...

A wonderful listen and superb playing. 8)

Gobsmackingly brilliant. Full of original ideas, melodically wonderful.
You know, I thought of Rick Wakeman when listening- I can imagine him doing this in the middle of a Yes concert many years before your daughter was born and blowing Earls Court away. Yet that does not do this piece justice because it is in no way derivative...superb in every way.

What a wonderfully inventive and creative piece of music played with passion and expression. I can't say more than that. Amazing

Hi CPM,
This has flavour, really nice, takes you down and then brings you up.
I especially love the deep piano then the little hi trills.
Very nice

Thanks everyone for the time you’ve taken to listen, and your kind words, CPD is now 20 and at Uni, so I’ve sent her your reviews and I’ll let you know her response.
@Bill Saunders (http://www.songwriterforum.co.uk/index.php?action=profile;u=18525) - wow, Mr W, now that’s a compliment, we use yo play Life on Mars together but i always found mick ronsons solo very hard, she just nailed Mr W’s part.
@PaulyX (http://www.songwriterforum.co.uk/index.php?action=profile;u=21034) - she’ll be really chuffed with your comments, thanks man
Off for a walk now so I’ll continue later....
-
Just spoke to CPD, She's really pleased with all of your comments, The Macaroni Cheese was what she cooked yesterday, it's one of her favourites.
Cheers

This is really good! Was it recorded live? Very clever composition and nuanced performance.
-
Did not like the lead-in. The rest of it I loved. VERY original and very nicely written and played.
Added note. Listened again a day later. Liked the lead-in a lot better on second listen. Once familiar with what follows, the lead in seems far better because it "fits and ties in" with the rest. Interesting what familiarity changes.

Very classy and original creation, your daughter is a fine piano player and has a great ear for subtle melody. Could hear this as a soundtrack in an Indie movie!

Wow part at 2.35 is beautiful. Great piece.
-
Thanks to all those who took the time to listen and comment.
cpd is really chuffed.
@kevysc (http://www.songwriterforum.co.uk/index.php?action=profile;u=19775) - Thanks yeah I guess that would fit really well.
@hardtwistmusic (http://www.songwriterforum.co.uk/index.php?action=profile;u=19215) - That's cool, I think the best songs need time to get used to, not everyone can like everything, so it's fine by me if you don't like it. I've been re listening to it, and it is definitely a grower...
@mickyplankton (http://www.songwriterforum.co.uk/index.php?action=profile;u=20769) - No it wasn't live, there are bits of it that are quite tricky to perform live, but the brief was that it was possible to play live, although she never did. I think I might have the dots somewhere....
Thanks again all
Regards
Rich

CPM,
this is a wonderful way to end a Friday night. Your daughter's composition reminds me of Aladdin Sane Bowie meets Kurt Weill.
I hope your daughter has continued her musical studies.

This is beautiful. So free in expression, I'm very impressed. Very accomplished playing but the creativity is what blows me away. Fab @cowparsleyman (http://www.songwriterforum.co.uk/index.php?action=profile;u=21308) !
-
That was brilliant. Remember, I'm American, and we don't throw that word around like you Brits. Wow.
-
Wow I love this one. Very cool piano and wonderful melody's which all together paint a big picture.
Great listen.
Thanks for sharing.
PS: Was there a wrong note at 0.28 or am I wrong.

@fischermans (http://www.songwriterforum.co.uk/index.php?action=profile;u=19014) - thanks for the listen. Yip there was a slip, i guess I’m used to it by now maybe it’s proves it’s real :)...
Glad you like. Cpd has been genuinely taken aback by the responses.
She left her music studies to read criminology at University, it happens so often when one reaches Grade IIX...what do you do next???? Diploma, music degree??? Teach music ??? Answers on a piece staff paper please...

Blimey Rich, that was amazing. Beautifully played and just a ridiculous amount of talent for one so young. Loved it.

WOW! How did I miss this masterpiece? Listening to this was an amazing experience :o Your daughter is truly talented Rich :)
I sure hope she continues with her music :)

Thanks to all for taking the time to listen to this...
@crystalsuzy (http://www.songwriterforum.co.uk/index.php?action=profile;u=18947) - So kind, she is trying her best to continue, but she's very focused in her studies, we do like a bash when she comes home. she also plays other instruments, so it's great fun swapping over drums, bass, gtr, keys, out of breath sometimes, doubled up with laughter often.
