Title: Watch out for those ladders.
Post by: shadowfax on January 17, 2019, 09:08:55 AM
So, here i am after 3 days in hospital writing with one finger left handed, fell backwards of a ladder while getting, stuff from the loft, or rather the ladder slipped away because of the shiny new floor....Mr dickhead here didn't have anyone stood at the bottom of the ladder...suffered huge trauma to my back, broke my shoulder and got myself a large gash in head..doc reckons 5 to 6 weeks for the shoulder and bed rest until my back sorts itself out...
the worst is my sound booth is delivered tomorrow, was so looking foward to putting it together and getting started again but gonna have to wait another month or so....really fed up!!

gonna be out of it for a while guys...

best, Kevin.

Gee, I'm sorry to hear that Kev. Glad you're relatively ok. You take it easy. I guess you're going to have to.

Holey sheet Kev.  :o

It's a right bummer but the booth is an incentive to get yourself well.

By the way,if the fall has broken your voice, may I have first dibs on your booth,at a greatly reduced price?  :D

Wish I didn't know how that feels.  I was luckier than you.  Just dislocated a shoulder.  Been almost fifteen years ago, and five years ago, it quit hurting.  Of course, if I'd done all the exercises I was supposed to do it wouldn't have hurt for so long.

I was working at the time.  Working for an idiot - self employed.  'o)

All the best for a speedy recovery Kevin. Write some left handed lyrics! One tiny slip of concentration then...so easy to do. Best...

That's some pretty bad luck man!!

Well for you anyway, pretty good for likes of us who don't have to compete with your quality songs for a while though...🤔

Seriously though, that sounds painful!!

Rest up, all the best for a speedy recovery and hope to hear from you soon.🚑💊🚑

Get better soon.

There's a running joke at work about me and ladders - I'm not allowed near them after an accident where I wasn't actually to blame but nearly broke my leg. It was an A-frame ladder and we all heard it click into place. My boss climbed up and I swear I was far enough away for safety. Next thing, my boss was falling straight down as the ladders sprung apart. The end of the ladder somehow just scraped down my lower leg - half-an-inch or even less nearer and it would have hit the bone.

Despite going back to work the next day (only limping) I ended up being off for over a week (paid!). The wound got infected and I had to take anti-biotics. Which made me feel very sick and unable to work.

So now they won't let me anywhere near a ladder!
