Title: From Emptiness - Light in the dark
Post by: moraamarolaloba on September 25, 2018, 12:05:26 AM
Hi everybody!
It has been a while since I participated in the forum but I have finally decided to return to active life after a period of mourning.

My husband, the composer and guitarist Marcus Nalgaber has helped me a lot by encouraging me to continue composing and making music, something I have done in an almost compulsive way while he continued to carry my channel.

Today I start again with you with a song titled From Emptiness, on an ethereal base, soft percussion elements and a wonderful guitar. I hope you will like it.

From Emptiness

There are no longer words hidden in my head
There are no longer words hidden in my head
There is only the wind that after touching the sea
it has the taste of salt
and of life foreing to mine
and of life foreing to mine

Life that even so surrounds me
with its indifferent connection
turning me into a swallow that seems lost
while searching for the promised world
while searching for the promised world

There are no longer words hidden in my head
There are no longer words hidden in my head
There is only the flight that after touching my wings
it lifts me above the air that holds the dream
nested in my feathers

There is only the wind that after touching the sea
it has the taste of salt
and of life foreing to mine
and of life foreign to mine

Nice mood-setting music. Interesting words, although I don't understand what they mean. I tried looking up "foreing" and it came up "foreign", so I assume that's what is meant? Anyway, it has a nice, kind of mysterious, vibe to it.

Hola Calia, thank you very much for your answer. After thinking it I have remade the video (now in Vimeo) giving a more clear sense to "foreing", now I say "of life foreign to mine".

What do I want to say? I'm never sure what I want to express, I simply express a moment of struggle

Be well dear.

Yo Mora.

Sorry to hear of your troubles,we all get a taste now and again. Good to see you back.

The lyrics have a deftly oblique style, which appeals to me,I can get lost in it's imagery.

The song itself has a transcendental feel, the guitar in particular evokes Carlos Santana. The electronic music surprisingly gels well and your distinctive voice is the icing on the cake.

I found it a delight,a thoughtful and heartfelt piece of music.

Hi Mora

Love this one - has a trippy "riders on the storm" vibe to it.
I found the video a little distracting but the music production is excellent - did you record this in a pro studio?

welcome back by the way  ;D ;D
more please!

Hi Paul, happy to see you. Thank you for watching and commenting.

"I found the video a little distracting"
I do not know if you know that I'm also a painter as well as a poet and composer, and making a video for each of my songs is like painting, that is, creating images that describe my ideas in an abstract way.

"did you record this in a pro studio?"
I have my own studio and I try to get the best out of it, to my liking. I'm glad you like the production.
See you soon.

Many thanks @Rightly (http://www.songwriterforum.co.uk/index.php?action=profile;u=20219)
It is difficult for a poetry to become a song but... this is my way

Hi Mora and welcome back. I guess we've both been absent from this forum for a while, due to trials in our lives  :(
But sometimes, we can harness these difficult periods and turn them into a wonderfully creative expressions of ourselves,
which you have obviously done with this track and video. I love the Santana vibe guitar and your vocals suit it perfectly :)
The melody and lyrics are very haunting, and although I didn't totally understand them, it didn't really matter...it was the melancholy, yet very relaxed mood that pulled me in  8)
I loved what you did with the video, although I like listening to the music independently  :)
Very nice work. You are obviously a very talented artist :) :)

Wow! thank you very much, it makes me happy someone with a so clear sensitivity tell me these words.
I know you are right when saying you like listening to the music independently but I can't avoid making images for my songs, I am a painter and videos are my paints.
See you soon.
