Just had an idea for a chorus. I’ve never really wrote songs before but I thought I’d try it out. This came about from the new Shawn Mendes track “Lost in Japan” and it wasn’t what I expected, so I decided to write down what I thought the song would sound like judging by the title. All feedback is appreciated!
Thanks
And maybe we could just get away
Maybe even just for a day
And you say maybe we can...
...Go get lost in Japan
Go get lost in Jap-a-an
Get lost in Japan
Go get lost in Jap-a-an
I haven’t got onto a verse yet as I wanted to get some thoughts on the chorus before I continue with writing the song. Any advice for writing lyrics is also much appreciated!

Feels like a prechorus and chorus to me; nothing at all wrong with the words. Now get on and write the choruses.🤓

Maybe incoperate a story into it xxx

I like what you wrote! Please, keep us updated! Katie is right, if you incorporate a story into it will be great, and easier to finish it. Do you have an idea yet?

i saw this and thought of this verse, you can have it if you want it:
Its late on a friday night
we've been workin hard all day, all week, all year
you say to me baby lets do somethin crazy
anything but just stay here
(insert your chorus)
