Have you tried it on a mobile device yet  ;D

Everything looks really good and it works on android. Thumbs up Boydie and all others involved!

If this is the thread for tiny questions about the New Forum I must ask:

Why is there a picture of what I presume is Bobba Fett in my profile page?

And

Is there any way to make the whole layout a bit less bright? It's very bright.

Martin

Looks cool, really good on mobile.
I'm really missing 2 links from the old forum though -

'View new posts since last visit' and
'View unread replies to your posts'

These still available somewhere or any way to bring them back?

Also, the popup that appears in the top right corner every time I change the page is really annoying!

Looks fresh!  8)

The mobile skin looks a lot more useable too, apart from the 'reply' button which takes me nowhere. I can message, but I can't post, using either Chrome of Firefox.

I'm on Safari on the Mac and all appears to work well, just a matter of getting used to the new layout.

Not getting any popup here,Ram.

Just a quick question - Is there a "Show unread posts since last visit" facility. If there is I cant find it  :)

Hi all

I am doing some testing and poking around - and I will write up the new guidelines and instructions to turn on the @tagging  ;D

@Ramshackles (http://www.songwriterforum.co.uk/index.php?action=profile;u=6887) - the pop up is an admin thing so I will sort that

I will look in to the "show last posts" feature

I think the biggest issue at the moment is the "reply" button on mobile (the arrow) - I have just tested and it doesn't bring up the reply box  ???

I will ask TONE to have a look....

But I am glad overall people are liking it - change is always a bit tricky...

There is a 'mark as read' button,John. Might do a similar job?

@pompeyjazz (http://www.songwriterforum.co.uk/index.php?action=profile;u=20269) Did you select the names from the list that should have popped up? I noticed your names are not underlined and I didn't get a notification?

YAY! - looks like @mentions are enabled to send PMs by default

Just make sure you pick the name from the list that pops up when you start typing someone's name

Well that's odd... I just posted this reply on my Android phone using chrome browser in portrait mode. No probs here. I just scrolled to the end of the page to where the quick reply box is.

However, if I click the reply icon I can't post a message unless I rotate to landscape view...

Testing ‘reply’ function... one of the things I used a lot before was ‘unread replies to your posts’ so would be nice if that was still around (could be me not being a able to find it) - is it there still?

We (well, @tone (http://www.songwriterforum.co.uk/index.php?action=profile;u=1) ) are working on this...

Just wanted to pop in and congratulate @boydie and @tone on a job well done. It's got class and feels fresh. Thanks for putting your time and effort, not on making music as I can surely guess you'd rather would have loved and preferred to do, but instead on making our home away from home look even more comfy and enjoyable. Appreciate it guys!!! Thanks! :)

Peter

I am indeed working on it, although probably not till tomorrow now.

Thanks for the kind words Peter and everyone else. Don't feel bad about reporting bugs though. The sooner I know about them the quicker I can spray em :p

I'm pretty damn sure I'm not alone in saying Your work is much appreciated Tone. We all tend to take our playground for granted and only voice opinion on the faults. This can be discouraging for anyone doing the donkey work.

Cheers Tone and Paul.  8)

Thanks guys

I am sooooo pleased with how the forum has turned out - it really has got the professional look and feel I was after, and I think the logo is looking great (I have already updated the Twitter with the new look)

The @mentions are also proving to be really useful already so I think this will be a great addition

Massive thanks to @tone (http://www.songwriterforum.co.uk/index.php?action=profile;u=1) for working his techy magic

And a big thank you to all of you that make this the best songwriting "home" on t'internet

We will work on squashing bugs, letting everyone get used to the forum and make a few tweaks (e.g. find a better way to stop spam on the forums and tweak the guidelines) to ensure the smooth running of the forum

@Boydie @Tone, its great work btw, I really like the tagging.

Another (minor) thing that I think would improve the experience is increasing the contrast between the grey background and posts? I.e make the background a bit darker...I find the brightness can be a bit fatiguing

Sure thing ram. Do you mean the in-post grey or the main background?

You may also be interested in a bit of free software I use precisely because I get this a lot on my screens: f.lux

It adjusts the colour balance and brightness on the fly according to the time of day. Really helpful

Yeah, my first login was..."Woh! Did I end up in the wrong place???" So far I'm liking the differences. A big thanks to Boydie and Tone (and all the mods, in general) for all your hard work to keep all us songbirds happy.

@tone the main grey background (between and around the posts)
Maybe it's just coming here from the pretty dark look of Cubase that throws me off f!
