Title: U.S. Radio Station taking song submissions
Post by: CaliaMoko on January 04, 2018, 04:17:52 PM
I just found out about a radio station, fairly near to me (Duluth, Minnesota--about 4 hours away) that's taking submissions from artists. They have a form on their website. You need to sign up and fill out a bunch of information about you or your band. I don't see anything about being limited to a particular part of the world.

The link, for anyone interested in checking it out, is http://www.kcrlradio.com/contactus.html. On the right side of the page is a button to click to get to the form. I haven't tried it yet, but it says it's free.

They play primarily country music, but they'll look at anything.

They use a submissions service called "Music Submit", which also takes submissions for other internet stations and blogs. You can go to http://www.musicsubmit.com/genres.cfm and choose a genre. Click on a genre and get a list of stations. Submitting here does cost money--$1.50 per station and you have to choose a minimum of 6. It says you are guaranteed a review or your money will be refunded.

As I said, I haven't checked this out, but it looks interesting, and I think I'll at least try the Duluth station. :)

When I get around to submitting a song, I'll report back on how it works. If anyone else tries it, I'm very interested in the process and the results.
